Mullaghcarn Giant
The Mullaghcarn Giant is a mountain running event in County Tyrone scheduled for Saturday 25 July 2026. The race is organised by Carmen Runners as part of the IMRA Ulster Championships and the NIMRA League. The course covers a distance of 12 km with approximately 500 m of total ascent and reaches the summit of Mullaghcarn, listed at 542 m.
The route is fully marked and will have marshals along the way. GPS devices are not permitted. The descent includes boggy ground, so trail shoes are recommended. Mandatory kit is Level B Standard and includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag or equivalent.
Prize giving will take place at Gortin Glens Forest Park, Gortin, Omagh BT79 7UG. The event is noted on regional competition calendars and forms part of league scoring for NIMRA events.
