Mourne Mountain Marathon

The Mourne Mountain Marathon is a two day navigation and endurance event held in the Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland. The 47th edition is scheduled for 19 and 20 September 2026. Teams of two enter one of four two day classes or a one day Score class.

Across the two day classes teams cover distances that typically fall between 35 km and 55 km over the weekend. The Score class is a single day event in which teams collect points within a six hour period. Competitors are expected to camp overnight and to be self-sufficient while on course.

Race features listed by the organiser include a flexible start time on day one, SPORTident electronic timing, end of event refreshments, and a T-shirt plus car sticker for entrants. The Event Centre has used the Silent Valley park as a campsite and base in recent years. Prize categories are available across multiple classes and there is a 200 team entry limit.

Entry fees given by the organiser are £110 per team with a reduced fee of £75 for U23 and Adult‑Junior teams, and £40 per team for the Score class. The event works with sponsors and local partners including Mac in a Sac and Lila’s Outdoors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
