Trail Running calendar near Thornbury 2026-2027

Two trail races through the mountains of Afan Forest Park, about 6.5 miles or 10.5 miles with significant climbs. Online entry, chip timing, marshalled route, finishers receive a t shirt and medal.

A 10 mile trail race through Radnor forest in Mid Wales on 23 August 2026, held in aid of the Special Care Baby Unit in Hereford. The route reaches Black Mixen at 2130 ft and includes forestry roads, moorland and tree covered single track.

An eight mile urban to trail loop in Bournemouth on 23 August 2026, running from Bournemouth Square into Meyrick Park. The fully signed course has one aid station, chip timing and a post-race gathering at PATCH.

A point to point coastal event from Weymouth to Swanage covering about 32 miles with a 12 hour limit. The route features steep climbs, staffed checkpoints, pre-booked coach transfers from Swanage to Weymouth, and a meal at the finish.

A guided, social-paced 13 mile urban trail around Exeter's waymarked Green Circle on 23 August 2026. The route follows footpaths and leafy suburban lanes; parking is near Haven Banks and a listed entry price is £5 until 22 August 2026.

Point-to-point ultras along the Cambrian Way into Cardiff, offered as 44- and 33-mile options with self-navigation, live tracking, indoor aid stations, and on-route support.

Trail races at Wimbleball Lake on 29 August 2026 with 10K and 5K courses plus canicross options; off-road routes, lake views, camping and race-day facilities are available.

A chip timed, multi terrain flat 10 km race around Pershore that starts at Pershore Leisure Centre and finishes in Abbey Park. Entry is online only, limited to 325 places and includes a medal, water and a plum for finishers.

A 7 km fell race with 365 m of ascent in Machen on 31 August 2026. The route runs on steep, loose terrain so trail or fell shoes are recommended and entry is on the day with a £7 fee and age limit over 18.

A Tuesday night charity fun run in early September raising funds for Weldmar Hospice. It features roughly 2K and 5K routes at Grove Farm Estates with entry on the night and no water station.

A mixed terrain trail along the Thames at Remenham Farm in Henley on Thames offering a half marathon, 10K and a junior race, with chip timed results, a themed medal and free race photos.

A **30 mile** ultra run from Studland Bay around the Isle of Purbeck with about 4600 ft elevation. The guided coastal route uses the Purbeck Way and South West Coast Path and passes Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge Bay, Swanage and Old Harry Rocks.
