The Dorset Doddle

The Dorset Doddle is a point to point event following the coastal path from Weymouth to Swanage. The route is about 32 miles and is set within coastal scenery in England. A 12 hour time limit applies.

The course runs along exposed cliffs and paths and includes several steep climbs. The map covering the route is OL15 though carrying it is not compulsory. Checkpoints along the route provide drinks and some light snacks; participants are advised to carry their own food and drink. A meal is provided at the finish.

Coaches run from Swanage to Weymouth on the morning of the event for an additional charge of £13; coach places must be pre-booked and are limited. The event starts from the Jubilee Clock on Weymouth Esplanade and finishes at All Saints Church Hall near the junction of Ulwell Road and Redcliffe Road.

Entries are limited to 250 with a waiting list once full. The minimum age for entrants is 16; entrants under 18 must have parental consent and be accompanied by a named adult, and other conditions may apply. Entry fees listed include £14 for LDWA members and £24 for non-members. The route description will be available to download from the Dorset LDWA website ten days before the event.
