Town to Trail Bournemouth : 8 mile trail run

Town to Trail is an urban to trail running event covering 8 miles on a loop that starts and finishes at Bournemouth Square and runs into the pines and parkland of Meyrick Park. The course is fully signed and a GPX file is available for course navigation.

The route features mixed terrain with wide paths and narrower trails that can be slippy when wet. Total elevation gain is 81 metres. There is a single aid station at mile 5 inside Meyrick Park offering water and snacks. Road crossings on course are marshalled and there are toilets at the start, at the finish and at about 6 km near Meyrick Park Club. Chip timing and basic first aid cover are provided.

Trail shoes are recommended. The event guidance notes that runners who can cover 5 km in an hour should be able to finish within the published cut off. The event lists a difficulty rating of 2 out of 5.

A companion training offer called Run Easy is run by Sole Clinic with support from Eightmile Events. It is a 10 week social training programme focused on a steady progression from 5K to 10K, alternating sessions between Poole and Southbourne, with a discounted fee for club members. Partners on the day include Sole Clinic, XMiles, Running Free and Meyrick Park Golf & Country Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
