Jurassic Coast Ultra Run
The Jurassic Coast Ultra Run is a guided trail ultra covering 30 miles along the Jurassic Coast and the Isle of Purbeck. It takes place on Saturday 5 September 2026 and starts and finishes at the beach of Studland Bay. The route follows inland sections of the Purbeck Way before returning to the coast and continuing along the South West Coast Path.
The route passes several coastal and historic landmarks, including Corfe Castle (an 11th century fortress), Kimmeridge Bay, Chapman's Pool, Durlston Head Castle, the town of Swanage, and Old Harry Rocks. The terrain is hilly with significant elevation; the organiser advises participants to have run at least 22 miles in training and to be prepared for extended periods at an average trail pace of about 10 minutes per mile (6 minutes per km).
This event is run as a group rather than a race and is led by an experienced ultra running guide who manages the route and offers advice during the day. A full kit list is provided in advance. Participants must arrange their own transport to the start/finish and a car park is available at the meeting area. The entry fee is £45 per person. The organiser will send meeting point details and further information a few days before the event. A complimentary alcohol free beer may be offered at the finish subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
