The organiser describes the route as hilly with total elevation of about 4,600 ft (1,400 m). Participants are advised to have run at least 22 miles in training and to be able to sustain an average trail pace of around 10 minutes per mile (6 minutes per km) for prolonged periods. A full kit list will be provided.
Route and logistics
The run starts and finishes by the beach at Studland Bay / Knoll Beach near Swanage, Dorset. The route follows the Purbeck Way inland and then the South West Coast Path east, passing Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge Bay, Chapman's Pool, Durlston Head Castle, and the town of Swanage, with Old Harry Rocks close to the finish. The event is supported as a guided experience rather than a race. There is a car park at the meeting area and participants need a vehicle to reach the start/finish. A complimentary alcohol-free beer may be offered at the end, subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
