The Jurassic Coast Ultra Run is a guided, non-competitive trail run organised by Running Adventures. The event on Saturday 5 September 2026 starts and finishes at Knoll Beach / Studland Bay, Swanage, Dorset. The route covers 30 miles with approximately 4600 ft (1400 m) of elevation. The cost listed is £45 per person. A full kit list will be provided and a free alcohol-free beer may be offered at the end, subject to availability.

Route and logistics

The run follows inland and coastal tracks around the Isle of Purbeck, using the Purbeck Way and sections of the South West Coast Path. Notable points on the route include Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge Bay, Chapman's Pool, Durlston Head, Swanage, and Old Harry Rocks. Participants will run together as a group under the guidance of an experienced ultra runner and coach; the event is not a race.

Participants are advised to have run at least 22 miles in training and to be prepared for significant elevation. Suggested sustained running pace guidance is about 10 min/mile (6 min/km). A vehicle is needed to reach the meeting point and parking is available. Final meeting details and additional information are sent to participants before the event. Trail runs nearby

Choose a half marathon or 10K through Moors Valley woodlands with muddy trails, steep climbs and chances to spot deer and birds of prey. Finishers get a wooden medal and the course is fully supported and timed.

Starburster is a twilight 5 or 10 mile run through Hurn Forest on 31 January, with out and back laps on firm forest trails beneath sunset skies. Head torches are required and 20% of entry fees support Forestry England for trail care.

Join WRNL 12 in Corfe Mullen for a 60 minute street and park score orienteering event based around the Dorset Soldier pub. SI timing, free parking and pub food on site. Juniors enter free; bring high visibility clothing and a torch.
