The Jurassic Coast Ultra Run is a guided, 30-mile trail run. It starts and finishes at Knoll Beach, Studland Bay in Swanage, Dorset.
Course Description
The run is a tour of the Jurassic Coast and Isle of Purbeck. The route begins by heading inland along the Purbeck Way towards Corfe Castle. It then ascends onto a ridge with views of the coast before descending to Kimmeridge Bay. From there, the route continues east along the South West Coast Path, passing landmarks including Chapman's Pool, Durlston Head Castle, and the town of Swanage. The finish is back at the beach, near Old Harry Rocks. The course is described as hilly.
Participation Details
The event is guided and not a race; the group runs together. A suggested prerequisite is the ability to run comfortably at an average pace of 10 min/mile (6 min/km) for prolonged periods on trail, and participants are advised to have run at least 22 miles in training. A full kit list will be provided. Participants need their own vehicle to get to the start/finish point. The entry cost is £45 per person. A car park is available at the meeting point.
