BigSky Trails (AIR)

Fordingbridge, United Kingdom • 20 Sep 2026

Event Overview

BigSky Trails (AIR) is the final event in the Classic Element Trail Series. The race takes place in the New Forest National Park, starting and finishing at Hyde Common near Fordingbridge. This location is one of the highest points in the park, offering views across the landscape. The course leads participants through wide open plains and winding forest trails where free-roaming wildlife is frequently seen. The event concludes with a run along Hampton Ridge.

Race Options

Participants can choose from three different distances:

  • 18 Miles
  • Marathon
  • 50k Ultramarathon

Logistics and Support

The routes are fully marked and marshalled. Support is provided through several aid stations: two for the 18 mile route, three for the marathon, and four for the 50km. These stations are cupless and offer water, electrolyte drinks, flat coke, and various sweet, savoury, and vegan snacks. A bag drop tent is available at the event hub. All participants must carry at least 500ml of fluid, and the use of a GPX file on a wearable device is recommended.

Sustainability and Awards

Upon completion, runners receive a bespoke medal. Through a partnership with the Trees Not Tees organization, participants have the option to plant a tree instead of receiving a physical medal. Event t-shirts are available via pre-order for collection on race day. Please note that canicross entries are not permitted for this event. Parking is designated at Harry's Field Campsite rather than the Abbots Wells car park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
