BigSky Trails (AIR)

BigSky is the "Air" instalment of the Classic Element Trail Series, scheduled for 20 September 2026 at Hyde Common, Frogham, in the New Forest National Park. It is the final event in the four-part series inspired by the elements Earth, Water, Fire and Air.

The route begins at a viewpoint on Hyde Common, one of the higher points in the New Forest. Runners follow marked and marshalled trails across open plains and winding forest paths, with wildlife commonly present. The course finishes with a run along Hampton Ridge back to Hyde Common. A bag drop tent will be available on the day.

Aid stations are provided: two for the 18 mile route, three for the marathon and four for the 50k, with additional water stations between. Aid stations will offer sweet and savoury snacks, vegan options, water and flat coke. The event operates as a cupless event. Precision Fuel & Hydration products, including PH 1000 electrolyte liquid, will be available on course and runners may collect two PFH gels at registration.

Mandatory kit includes at least 500 ml of fluid carried by each runner. Runners are advised to carry appropriate clothing for variable conditions and to download the GPX file of their route. Cut-off times are 4.5 hours for 18 miles, 7 hours for the marathon and 8.5 hours for the 50k. Canicross entries are not accepted. An obstacle 5k at Baiter Park in Poole on 30 May 2026, the Pretty Muddy event combines climbing, crawling and sliding while raising funds for Cancer Research UK. Waves run every 15 minutes and participants must be 13 or older.

A camp-based Backyard Ultra at Chilton Manor Farm featuring a repeated loop through private trails, fields and woodland with a high point at Bugmore Hill Trig Point and on-site aid, toilets and course photography.

Midweek chip timed trail races at the Blue Pool nature reserve in Dorset with 7 mile and 3 mile routes through woodland and ridge views. Race entry includes access for one adult and up to two children.

Water themed trail running on the Isle of Purbeck with four single lap distances from half marathon to 54k. Routes run along coastal cliffs and Purbeck hills and include well stocked aid stations and GPX navigation advice.
