BigSky Trails (AIR)

BigSky is the Air event in the Classic Element Trail Series, held at Hyde Common in the New Forest National Park. The route starts from a viewpoint at Hyde Common and runs across wide open plains and winding forest trails with long-range skyline views and local wildlife.

The event offers three route options and specified aid support:

  • 18 miles - £44
  • Marathon - £52
  • 50 km Ultramarathon - £62

Aid station provision varies by distance: two stations for the 18 mile route, three for the marathon and four for the 50 km ultramarathon, with additional water stations between. Aid stations will provide a selection of sweet and savoury snacks including vegan options, water and flat coke. The event is cupless; runners who prefer may use their own reusable bottles.

Mandatory kit includes at least 500 ml of fluid carried by each runner. Hydration vests or handheld soft flasks are permitted. Runners are advised to carry appropriate clothing for changeable conditions and to download the GPX file of the route in case course markings are tampered with. A bag drop tent will be available on the day. Cut-off times apply for each distance.

Parking is provided at Harry’s Field Campsite, Abbots Well Road, Frogham SP6 2JA. Canicross entries are not accepted. Event T-shirts are available by pre-order only and can be collected at Event HQ. Runners can opt for a tree to be planted instead of a finishers medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
