Event overview

BigSky Trails (AIR) is the final event in the Classic Element Trail Series, held at Hyde Common, Frogham, near Fordingbridge in the New Forest National Park. The event starts from a high viewpoint at Hyde Common and uses trails across open plains and winding forest paths. It is fully marked and marshalled and finishes with a run along Hampton Ridge back to Hyde Common. Car parking is provided at Harry’s Field Campsite, Abbots Well Road, Frogham, SP6 2JA. Canicross entries are not accepted. The event is open to entrants aged 18 and over.

Aid stations and support:

  • The 18 mile route has 2 aid stations, the marathon has 3, and the 50 km has 4, with additional water stations between them.
  • Aid stations will offer sweet and savoury snacks, vegan options, water and flat coke. The event operates as a cupless event.
  • Precision Fuel & Hydration supplies PH 1000 on course; this drink delivers 1,000 mg of sodium per litre, is served pre-mixed, and has a mild citrus flavour.

  • Runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid. Weather-appropriate clothing is advised.
  • A bag drop tent will be available. Organisers recommend downloading the GPX file of the route.
  • Cut-off times: 18 mile - 4.5 hours; Marathon - 7 hours; 50 km - 8.5 hours.
  • Event t-shirts are available by pre-order only. Runners can opt to have a tree planted instead of a finishers medal.

Starburster is a twilight 5 or 10 mile run through Hurn Forest on 31 January, with out and back laps on firm forest trails beneath sunset skies. Head torches are required and 20% of entry fees support Forestry England for trail care.

Join WRNL 12 in Corfe Mullen for a 60 minute street and park score orienteering event based around the Dorset Soldier pub. SI timing, free parking and pub food on site. Juniors enter free; bring high visibility clothing and a torch.

Run or walk the Purbeck Hill Challenge from Knoll Beach Studland, enjoying the Purbeck Hills and Jurassic Coast with optional orienteering sections. Multiple distances, solo or pairs, self supported and limited to 100 entries.

The Terminator 2026 is a tough but rewarding 12 mile trail race around Pewsey, Wiltshire, mostly off road with muddy climbs and high point views. All finishers receive a unique T shirt and race village treats await.
