BigSky Trails (AIR)

BigSky is the final event in the Classic Element Trail Series, held on 20 September 2026 at Hyde Common in the New Forest National Park. The course runs across wide open plains and winding forest trails, passing viewpoints and areas of free-roaming wildlife. The route showcases extensive sky views from one of the park's higher points.

Distances and entry prices:

  • 18 Miles - £44
  • Marathon - £52
  • 50km Ultramarathon - £62

The course is fully marked and marshalled. Aid provision varies by distance: two aid stations for the 18 mile route, three for the marathon and four for the 50km event, with additional water stations between them. Aid stations supply a selection of sweet and savoury snacks with vegan options, water and flat coke. The event is cupless; runners receive PH 1000 electrolyte at aid stations and may collect two PFH gels at registration.

Mandatory kit includes at least 500 ml of carried fluid. Runners are advised to carry appropriate clothing for changeable conditions and to download the GPX route file onto a watch or device as a backup to course markings. A bag drop tent will be available on site. Car parking is provided at Harry’s Field Campsite in Frogham; attendees are asked not to use Abbots Wells Car Park.

Finishers receive a bespoke event medal; entrants may opt to have a tree planted instead of taking a medal. Classic Element series T-shirts are available by pre-order and collected at event headquarters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
