The Joust 6hr, 12hr & 24hr

The Joust is an off-road running event held at Top Barn Campsite in Holt Heath near Worcester. The race takes place on a looped course of approximately 5.6 miles over private farmland. The route follows sections of the Severn Way along the river before returning to the campsite through various fields, footpaths, and quiet lanes. The course is described as relatively flat, well-marked, and marshalled.

Participants can choose from several endurance formats:

  • 24 Hour Race
  • 12 Hour Race (50-mile target)
  • 6 Hour Race
  • Kids Joust (1-hour fun run with an inflatable obstacle)

The 24 hour event is open to solo runners, pairs, and relay teams of 3-5 or 6-8 people. Soloists in this category attempt to complete as many laps as possible, with those exceeding 100 miles earning a special buckle. The 12 hour event is a solo challenge where the goal is to reach 50 miles. The 6 hour option is also for solo competitors.

Entry fees include camping on Friday and Saturday nights at the site, which features showers, toilets, and drinking water points. Solo runners in the 24 hour race have designated camping areas close to the course. On-site catering is available, and participants are required to bring their own reusable cups as the event is cup-free. Mandatory kit includes a head torch for night running, a whistle, and a mobile phone. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
