Wimbleball Lake Trail Races

Wimbleball Lake hosts trail races that include running and canicross on off-road terrain around the lake. The event offers a 10K and a 5K course; the 10K uses almost the same route as nearby triathlon events, while the 5K shares the same start and finish area but turns back earlier. Both courses feature lake views and varied off-road surfaces.

Distances

  • 10K trail run - 1 lap, minimum age 15
  • 10K canicross - 1 lap, minimum age 16
  • 5K trail run - 1 lap, minimum age 12
  • 5K canicross - 1 lap, minimum age 16

Facilities and services include finishers medals for all competitors, podium medals for top finishers in various categories, professional RFID chip timing, event photos, showers and toilets, and public liability insurance. Photos are provided free at social media resolution with an organizer logo; higher resolution downloads and prints are available for an additional charge. Camping is available at Wimbleball Lake for an additional fee and there is plentiful parking on site.

The trail races form part of the wider Wimbleball Sports Festival on the bank holiday weekend, which also features triathlons, open water swims and cycle sportives. The organizer operates a one prize per person policy for awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
