Wimbleball Lake Trail Races

The event on August 28, 2026 takes place at Wimbleball Lake, Exmoor, near Brompton Regis and Dulverton in Somerset. The routes use off road terrain and offer views of the lake. The 10K course largely matches the triathlon course used elsewhere in the festival, while the 5K follows the same start and finish but turns earlier.

The trail races are part of the Wimbleball Sports Festival, which includes triathlons, open water swims and cycle sportives across the bank holiday weekend. Event facilities listed for competitors include finishers medals for all, podium prizes, professional event photos (low resolution with event logo and higher resolution for an additional charge), showers, toilets, plenty of parking, public liability insurance and professional RFID chip timing. A mixed surface coastal out and back of about 7 miles from Blue Anchor to Minehead and back via the Steam Coast Trail, with water stations, first aid, a finishers medal and event T shirts for early online entries.

A measured 10K from Barnstaple Rugby Club using the Tarka Trail and local pavements, crossing Taw Bridge and Long Bridge and passing Rock Park. The race is chip timed, awards medals and prizes, and offers team entry by individual sign up.

A community 5k and 10k at Neroche Primary School with chip timing and countryside multi-terrain routes. Proceeds support the Neroche School PFA and a children’s fun run is held for a small donation.

Green Lantern is a mixed terrain event around Exeter following the Green Circle. Runners choose direction on entry and may do a 14.2 miles main route or a 9 miles Yellow Zone; both start together.
