Event

The Wimbleball Lake Trail Races take place on 28 August 2026 at Wimbleball Lake, Brompton Regis, Dulverton, Somerset (TA22 9NU). The event is organised by Sportiva Events and uses off-road paths around the lake. Distances offered include:

  • 10K trail run - 1 lap, age 15 by race day
  • 10K canicross - 1 lap, age 16 by race day
  • 5K trail run - 1 lap, age 12 by race day
  • 5K canicross - 1 lap, age 16 by race day

The 5K route shares the same start and finish arrangement as the 10K but turns earlier. Route maps and a race manual are provided.

Facilities and services

The event provides finishers medals and podium prizes, and operates a one prize per person policy. Professional RFID chip timing and public liability insurance are in place. Event photography is provided; low-resolution images include the organiser logo, and high-resolution downloads or prints are available for an additional charge. Toilets are available on site. Camping is available at Wimbleball Lake for an additional charge, and the venue has plentiful parking. Results and start lists are published after the event. Join the Community Canal Run for a scenic off road route along the canal and River Tone into Taunton. Free to enter with registration required, choose a 14 mile or 7.5 mile route and enjoy cafes and a relaxed, untimed atmosphere.

Join a festive 60 minute score event at Knightshayes National Trust on Sunday 28 December in scenic parkland and woodland. Mass start, map open at the hooter and race to collect as many controls as you can.

Join guided recce runs of the East Devon Round Ultra in early 2026, including the new 25km Quarter route. Free for entrants or a small £3 donation for others, led by Ruby Red Running guides with groups adjusted by ability and pace.
