Westonbirt Arboretum Summer and Winter races

The Westonbirt events run across four race dates in September 2026 and February 2027 and include a mix of day and night races. Races take place at Westonbirt Arboretum, Westonbirt, Tetbury, GL8 8QS (what3words: monkey.booth.motored). Distances offered across the dates include:

  • Half Marathon
  • 10 km
  • 5 km
  • 1 Mile Fun Run

The routes are mostly on solid stone forest paths and are largely very flat with a few small rises and falls. Courses are comprehensively marked and marshalled. Runners are set off in waves of about 150; entrants can select a wave when registering.

Drinks and feed provision varies by distance: there is no drinks station on the 5 km, one feast station on the 10 km and three feast stations on the Half Marathon. Stations provide water, electrolyte at warmer or longer races, and a mix of food including gluten free, dairy free and vegan options. There is a bag drop, on site toilets and places to buy food; there are no changing rooms.

All finishers of 5 km and longer receive a 10 cm by 10 cm two-sided medal; the September and February events have different medal designs and each distance has its own ribbon. Fun run medals may vary. The minimum ages are 17 for the Half Marathon, 14 for the 10 km, 12 for the 5 km and no minimum for the fun run. Buggy runners are permitted; canicross is not allowed.

Group discount tiers apply for entries of 10 runners or more. Parking at Westonbirt is limited so car sharing is advised. Professional photos are available for purchase after the event and a medical team is present on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
