Event Overview
The Battle of the Borders is a trail running event in the Shropshire Hills. Runners can choose from three distances: a 10K, a Half Marathon (13.1 miles), and a Marathon (26.2 miles).
Course & Logistics
The route takes place on the Shropshire Hills and The Long Mynd. The marathon is a single-lap course. The start and finish are at Carding Mill Valley in Church Stretton, near National Trust tea rooms. The course passes through a National Trust area. It will be fully marked, but runners are advised to carry a map. A seven-hour cutoff applies for the marathon.
Requirements & Amenities
Participants are required to carry a rucksack with a minimum of 500ml of water and a basic first aid kit. The entry price includes a medal. Aid stations are provided on the course, and marshals will be present. The event venue is close to Church Stretton, which has a train station within a mile of the start.
