Battle of the Borders

Battle of the Borders is a trail running event in the Shropshire Hills with race headquarters at Carding Mill Valley, Church Stretton, Shropshire, SY6 6JG. The courses run across open hill country, including sections on The Long Mynd and National Trust land.

Available distances include:

  • Marathon: 26.2 miles, single lap across The Long Mynd
  • Half Marathon: 13.1 miles on Shropshire Hills trails
  • 10K: 10 kilometres on a marked trail course

The start and finish are located in Carding Mill Valley near the National Trust tea rooms. The course will be fully marked, and participants are advised to carry a map of the area.

Runners are expected to carry a rucksack, a minimum of 500 ml of water, and a basic first aid kit. Aid stations are provided on the course, and marshals are present along the route. Entry price includes a finish medal.
