Battle of the Borders
Battle of the Borders is a trail running event in the Shropshire Hills with routes across The Long Mynd and a National Trust area. The course starts and finishes in Carding Mill Valley, close to the National Trust tea rooms.
The event offers multiple distances:
- Marathon : 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon : 13.1 miles
- 10K
The marathon is a single lap route with no loops or out-and-back sections. The course will be fully marked; runners are asked to carry a map of the area. Participants are expected to carry a rucksack, a minimum of 500 ml of water, and a basic first aid kit. Aid stations are provided on the course and are described as well stocked. Marshals are present along the route.
Carding Mill Valley is near the town of Church Stretton; the town has a train station within about a mile of the event headquarters.
