The Across Wales Walk

The Across Wales Walk is an annual long-distance walking and running event that follows a 45 mile linear route across the principality of Wales. Entrants aim to complete the crossing within an 18 hour time limit. The route is described as a linear coast-to-coast style crossing of Wales.

The event is organised as a full weekend package. Included elements reported for past editions are overnight accommodation both before and after the crossing, coach transport to the start and return to Clun, refreshments provided en route, and a presentation ceremony at the weekend finish. Maps, route descriptions and GPS files are made available for participants.

The event’s organising pages and news updates record changes and operational notes for recent years, including adjustments to dates when local activities affected the route, and reduced-field or modified arrangements in response to public health guidance. Booking windows have been used each year; one forthcoming booking opening is listed as 1 May 2026. The event has been held repeatedly over many years and publishes bulletins and practical information for entrants about route details, booking and logistics.
