Trail Running calendar near Shifnal 2026-2027

A multi stage mountain ultra across Wales offering a six day Full Dragon of 380 km and 16,400 m ascent plus two day and partial route options. Navigation is unmarked; organisers provide a paper map, GPX files and a safety GPS tracker.

Enjoy a Peak District fell race at Oxspring Playing Field, a punchy 6.2 km course with 190 m of ascent through scenic terrain. On the day entries welcome for a modest fee and the event is part of an eight race series.

A trail 5k around Clowbridge Reservoir held as part of a three race series on 3, 10 and 17 September 2026. The two lap anticlockwise course starts at Rossendale Valley Sailing Club and has about 25 m of elevation.

A 24 hour loop race at OnePlanet Adventure in Llandegla, Wales. Individuals or two person teams run as many 3 mile laps as possible on forest trails with about 144 m elevation per lap.

A **100 mile** ultra on runnable trails through Sherwood Forest and towpaths, with two forest loops, well stocked aid stations, a 30 hour cutoff, drop bag points and pacers allowed from about mile 51.

An inflatable obstacle course event in Bakewell, Derbyshire with music zones, a finisher medal and multiple distances. Laps repeat a 2.5k loop offering 15 to 90 obstacles in a non timed, family friendly format.

Trail ultramarathons in the Peak District on 12–13 September 2026 with distances from 12 km to 110 km, UTMB Index status and camping options. The event also forms part of the GB SLAM series.

A 20 mile Peak District traverse over nine gritstone edges raising funds for Edale Mountain Rescue Team. Options to walk, run or climb, with mandatory navigation and safety kit, refreshments and bus transport back included in the entry fee.

Run as far as you like at Alice in Runderland, a timed multi lap event at Parc Taf Bargoed with flexible start times and on course support. Choose from one lap up to marathon and earn a bespoke finisher medal.

MacTuffX Manchester at Etihad Campus on 12 September 2026 offers functional fitness races combining ten Xercises with running in 10x400m and 10x800m formats, available for Solo, Doubles and five person Relay teams for adults only.

A partly marked fell race from the Raven Inn, covering 11.25 km with 445 m ascent. Day-entry only at £5, minimum age over 18, and participants should allow about 15 minutes to walk to the start.

A long, non-commercial fell race in the Black Mountains with a 27.4 km route and 1586 m of ascent. The event uses five checkpoints, requires full navigational kit, and operates on open access land with no on-course water provided.

A trail running event in Alton on 12 September 2026 offering a 10 km trail and a 2 mile fun run. The route uses gravel tracks and woodland trails and passes through the grounds of Alton Castle; medals for all finishers.

A *10 km* trail race around Cleveland Lakes organised by the Cotswold Lakes Trust, run on flat tree lined paths with water views. Participants must be 15 years or over and agree to the event terms.

Autumn Wolf is a two day trail event in Warwickshire on 12 and 13 September 2026, featuring adult 10K and 5K routes plus junior 6K and 3K races across woodland, fields, streams and mud.

A half marathon trail across the Clwydian Hills to the summit of Moel Famau, featuring about 21.4 km and 750 m of ascent. Staggered starts aim for a shared sunset summit and canicross entries are welcome.

Three waymarked walks of 12, 18 and 26 miles from Wistanstow Village Hall through the Shropshire Hills AONB, with checkpoint support, maps and a hot finish meal; places are limited and a waiting list operates.

Scenic trail races from Bakewell Showground in the Peak District offering a half marathon, 15k and 9.1k. Routes follow the Monsal Trail with river and Chatsworth views and include chip timing, refreshments and a finisher medal.

Tackle the Ilam Three Peaks fell race on Sun 13 Sep 2026 in the Peak District, a punchy 6.4 km route with 520 m of climb across classic fell terrain. Pre entry required, so book early for this steep, scenic challenge.

TrailFest at Holdenby House offers four traffic free trail distances inside a private estate, with routes on farm tracks, field edges and through a small wood, plus rolling hills and open countryside views.
