TrailFest - Holdenby House

Chapel Brampton, United Kingdom • 13 Sep 2026

Event Overview

TrailFest - Holdenby House takes place on a private estate in Northamptonshire, located four miles north-west of Northampton. The event offers a variety of distances held entirely within the grounds of the estate, providing a traffic-free trail running environment. The course explores a mixture of working farmland, farm tracks, field edges, and a small area of woodland.

Participants can choose from four distinct distances:

  • 10 km
  • Half Marathon
  • Marathon
  • 50 km

The route starts and finishes between the historic Basecourt Arches. The terrain features rolling hills and includes a section through a rarely trodden wood where runners navigate around branches and logs. Under dry conditions, road shoes may be suitable, though trail shoes are recommended if there has been recent rain.

Logistics and Facilities

The event is held under a UK Athletics and Trail Running Association license. Because of these regulations, dogs are not permitted on the course. While pacers are not allowed, spectators and support crews are welcome to attend. A designated grass area near the headquarters is available for teams or supporters to set up gazebos with prior notice.

Free parking is available on-site on a dedicated grass area. The location is approximately 15 minutes from Junction 18 of the M1. For those traveling by rail, the estate is seven miles from Northampton train station and five miles from Long Buckby train station. There are no public bus services to the venue.
