Alton Trail Run 12 September 2026
The Alton Trail Run takes place in Alton, Staffordshire on Saturday 12 September 2026. The 2026 course follows the same route as 2025 and passes through Dimmingsdale and the historic grounds of Alton Castle, which are normally closed to the public.
The route minimises the use of tarmac and is mainly on gravel tracks and woodland trails. Runners may be accompanied by dogs provided the animals are well behaved and kept on leads.
Registration will be at the White Hart in Alton, ST10 4AQ. Free parking is available at the Alton Village Hall car park. Entries are limited to 150 participants and are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Online entries are available only for the 10 km event; entries for the fun run must be made on the day.
Distances and basic entry rules
- 10 km Trail Run for ages 14 and over
- 2 mile Fun Run; under 10s must be accompanied by an adult
Entry fees differ by event and timing. Medals are provided for all finishers. The event raises money for two local charities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
