A fully marked 4-mile loop covering approximately 6.4 km with about 520 m of ascent. The course begins with a steep climb up Bunster Hill, includes a river crossing and several faster sections between three summits.

Registration takes place at Ilam Primary School, DE6 2AZ. Parking is at the National Trust car park at Ilam Park, DE6 2AZ, a short walk from registration. Public toilets are available at Ilam Hall and there are limited toilets at registration. Tea, cakes and savoury snacks will be available to purchase after the race; cash may be required.

The event is licenced by the Fell Runners Association and governed by FRA rules. Competitors must carry the mandatory kit listed in the race information; full FRA kit may be required though requirements can be relaxed depending on conditions. The use of GPS navigation or poles is not allowed and running with dogs is not allowed. Breaches of the rules may result in disqualification.

Entries open on 1 July 2026 and close on 10 September 2026. Minimum age is 18 and maximum field size is 250 runners. Entry fees listed are £12 for FRA members and £14 for non members. Prizegiving includes individual and team prizes across standard age categories. Course records stand at 00:36:12 for the male course (2025) and 00:40:24 for the female course (2024). Take on the Charlesworth & Chisworth Carnival Fell Race on Sat 11 Jul 2026 in the Peak District, a testing 5 km / 3.1 mile course with 180 m of climb. Pre entry and entry on the day plus junior races make this a great community running day.

A short 1.6 km hill race with 95 m of climb on Sugar Lane in Rainow on 11 July 2026, held as part of the Rainow Village Fete. Open to runners aged 8 and over with entry on the day.

A charity trek at Tittesworth Reservoir offering 10, 20 and 30 mile routes, team entry options and a mandatory kit list. Proceeds support a climate resilient water, sanitation and hygiene project in Bangladesh.

A self-navigation trail event from Parwich across limestone paths and the High Peak Trail, about 17 miles with 2,000 ft of climb, three aid stations and a collect-and-deliver Quest visiting Minninglow Hill and Harborough Rocks.
