Trail Running calendar near Morpeth 2026-2027

Two fully tracked trail ultras in October 2026: a 104-mile course from Dufton and a 50-mile course from Croft-on-Tees, both finishing in Skinningrove with checkpoints and set cut-offs.

The District BYU is a Backyard Ultra in an undisclosed Lake District setting with a 4.167 mile loop run each hour until one runner remains. Camping is included and the event is self supported with basic aid station provision.

The Darlington Trail Night Run will take place in Darlington on Wednesday 7 October 2026.

A fell race at Wasdale Head on 10 October 2026 that climbs to Kirk Fell over 2.4 miles with about 700 m ascent. Age groups run from Under 12 to Seniors and specific waterproof kit is compulsory.

Langdale Horseshoe is a 21.1 km October fell race over rocky, pathless terrain that requires prior mountain running experience. Entries open 1 August via SI Entries and the field is limited to 550 competitors.

Tackle the Viking Chase, a 12 km fell race across the North York Moors on 11 Oct 2026, featuring 572 m of climb and sweeping moorland views. Entry on the day, adults only, with proceeds to Cleveland Mountain Rescue.

A 7 hour timed trail event along the River Wear in Durham on 11 October 2026 with lap-based distances from a 3 km minimum up to marathon, 50 km and ultra options. Medals, goody bags and aid stations are provided; headphones allowed.
