Harkerside Hustle

The Harkerside Hustle is the finale of a short course trail series. The event is based at The Dales Bike Centre in Reeth and follows a fully marked route that highlights views across Swaledale.

This event is run as a half marathon and begins alongside the DR40 field. The route leaves Grinton, follows a short road section onto Harkerside Moor, passes an iron age farmstead and climbs Whitaside Moor. A long descent runs through Apedale before rejoining the DR40 line to climb to the Height of Greets and cross to Grinton Smelt Mill. The course continues past Sharrow Hill and follows grassy descents to Cogden Hall before returning to the Dales Bike Centre. Terrain includes moorland trods, hard packed tracks and grassy paths. Each listed race distance is presented as a rough estimate.

Services on course include fully stocked aid stations with vegan and gluten free options, and a GPX file and map are made available. Post race soup and a roll are included in the entry. Hot drinks and cakes are available to purchase from the Dales Bike Centre cafe. A finishers neck tube is offered for a small additional fee. Car parking and marshals are provided on site.

Entry requirements and fees are set by the organiser DalesRunner. Minimum age to enter is 16. Entries open 27 November 2025 and close 27 September 2026. Entry fees listed are UKA member £24.00 and Non Member £26.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
