The Harkerside Hustle is a half marathon held on 4 October 2026, organised by DalesRunner. The event starts and finishes at The Dales Bike Centre in Reeth, with the course beginning from Grinton and passing through several points in Swaledale. Entry is open to participants aged 16 and over. Entry fees listed are £24 for UKA members and £26 for non-members. Entries open 27 November 2025 and close 27 September 2026. A GPX file and map are available for the route. Car parking is provided.

Course and facilities

The course follows paths used by the DR40 runners and includes a short road section onto Harkerside Moor, a passage past an iron age farmstead, a climb of Whitaside Moor, a descent through Apedale, a climb to the Height of Greets, a crossing to Grinton Smelt Mill, views from Sharrow Hill, and grassy descents to Cogden Hall before returning to the Dales Bike Centre. Surfaces include moorland trods, hard packed tracks and grassy paths. Aid stations are fully stocked and include vegan and gluten free options. A finishers soup and roll is included in the entry. Hot drinks and cakes are available to purchase from The Dales Bike Centre cafe. A finishers neck tube is offered for a small additional fee.
