Harkerside Hustle

The Harkerside Hustle is a trail running event held in Swaledale, serving as the finale to a short course series. The route is approximately a half marathon distance and begins at the Dales Bike Centre in Reeth, near Grinton. Participants follow a fully marked course that explores local terrain and landmarks within the Yorkshire Dales.

The route starts with a short road section leading from Grinton onto Harkerside Moor. Runners pass through historical sites, including an Iron Age farmstead, before climbing Whitaside Moor. The terrain consists of a variety of surfaces, including moorland trods, hard-packed tracks, and grassy paths. The course also features a descent through Apedale and a climb to the Height of Greets, passing landmarks such as the Grinton Smelt Mill and Sharrow Hill. The final segment includes a grassy descent to Cogden Hall before returning to the start location.

The event provides fully stocked aid stations along the route with vegan and gluten-free options. Participants must be at least 16 years of age on the day of the event.
