Round Ripon Ultra : event overview
Round Ripon Ultra is a 35 mile circular trail race that starts and finishes at Studley Roger Village Hall, Studley, Ripon, North Yorkshire HG4 3AY. The undulating route follows the northern section of the Ripon Rowel and passes through trail, woodland and moorland within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The finish runs through Studley Royal deer park and returns to Studley Roger.
The event offers an individual full course and a relay format. There are four well stocked staffed check points with water, sweets and cake, additional savouries, plus extra water stations. Toilet facilities are available at the race headquarters and at Check Point 3. Race headquarters provides free tea and coffee.
Participants must carry relevant equipment for conditions, including waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, emergency food, water and a fully charged mobile phone with the race director’s number for emergencies. The event limit is 200 runners. Minimum ages are 20 years for individual runners and 17 years for relay runners.
Entry fees are listed as Solo: £45.00 affiliated, £47.00 unaffiliated; Relay per team: £75.00 affiliated, £85.00 unaffiliated. Finishers of the full course receive a medal and T-shirt; each relay team member receives a T-shirt. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to top finishers and age categories; a team trophy is awarded to eligible five person teams.
