Ripon Round Ultra and Relay

Ripon Round Ultra and Relay is a 35-mile circular race starting and finishing in Studley Roger, North Yorkshire. The undulating route follows the northern section of the Ripon Rowel and passes trail, woodland and moorland within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The finish runs through Studley Royal deer park back into Studley Roger.

The event offers both solo and relay entries. Minimum ages are 20 years for solo participants and 17 years for relay participants. The race is held under UKA rules and operates a 10 hour time limit; cut off times apply at checkpoints.

Race Headquarters are at Studley Roger Village Hall, where refreshments, hot food and toilet facilities will be available. The route includes four well stocked checkpoints staffed by volunteers, with additional water stations depending on weather. Each checkpoint will provide water, savouries, sweets and cake. A toilet is available at CP3, approximately 19 miles into the course. Paper cups will not be provided at checkpoints.

Finishers of the full course receive a T-shirt. Relay team members also receive a T-shirt. Prizes include awards for the first three male and female finishers, age category winners, a team trophy for qualifying five-person teams and a prize for the fastest relay team.

Entry fees: solo £45 affiliated / £47 unaffiliated; relay per team £75 affiliated / £85 unaffiliated. Entries open 3 February 2026 and close 13 September 2026.

Mandatory equipment includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat, gloves, emergency food, at least 500 ml water, a foil blanket, a route map or description and a fully charged mobile phone with the organiser’s contact saved. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
