Round Ripon Ultra
The Round Ripon Ultra is a 35 mile circular trail race that starts and finishes at Studley Roger Village Hall in North Yorkshire. The undulating route follows the northern section of the Ripon Rowel and passes through trail, woodland and moorland in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The course finishes with a downhill section through Studley Royal deer park back into Studley Roger.
The event offers solo and relay entries. Solo entry fees are listed for affiliated and unaffiliated runners. Relay teams are made up of five people; competitors may run more than one leg. The route is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams or pushchairs.
There are four staffed checkpoints and additional water stations along the route. Checkpoints provide water, sweets, cake and some savoury items. Toilet facilities are available at the race headquarters and at checkpoint 3 (around 19 miles). The race headquarters in Studley Roger Village Hall provides tea, coffee and toilets.
Support materials include a downloadable course map, GPX file and a course description file. Race finishers receive a medal and a T-shirt; relay team members receive a T-shirt. Prizes and trophies are awarded to top finishers and team awards are presented for qualifying club teams.
The event limit is 200 entrants. Minimum ages: 20 years for individual runners and 17 years for relay team runners. The overall time limit is 10 hours, with progressive cutoffs at checkpoints (CP2 4 hours, CP3 5.5 hours, CP4 8.5 hours).
