Round Ripon Ultra
The Round Ripon Ultra is a 35 mile circular trail run that starts and finishes in the village of Studley Roger, North Yorkshire. The undulating route follows the northern section of the Ripon Rowel and passes through trail, woodland and moorland within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The final section descends through Studley Royal deer park back into Studley Roger.
The event is limited to 200 entrants. Individual runners must be at least 20 years old; relay team runners must be at least 17. Solo entry fees are listed for affiliated and unaffiliated runners, and there is a relay entry fee per team. The time limit for completing the full course is 10 hours and progressive cut off times apply at checkpoints.
Race headquarters are in Studley Roger Village Hall, where tea, coffee and toilets are available. The route includes four staffed check points with water, sweets and cake; additional savoury items and a toilet are provided at checkpoint 3 (approximately 19 miles). Finishers of the full course receive a medal and a T-shirt; each relay team member receives a T-shirt. Prizes and trophies are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers, age category winners, and to qualifying teams.
Relay teams consist of five legs; competitors may run multiple legs. Approximate distances between checkpoints are:
- Start to CP1 - 7.5 miles
- CP1 to CP2 - 7.8 miles
- CP2 to CP3 - 3.9 miles
- CP3 to CP4 - 8.3 miles
- CP4 to finish - 7.5 miles
