Trail Running calendar near Hooton 2026-2027

Trail races at Brockholes Nature Reserve in Preston on 7 May 2027 offering 10k, half, marathon and a timed ultra with waymarked routes and on-site support.

Pretty Muddy 5k at Weston Park is an obstacle course across paths, tracks and grass with some hills and on site parking. Entrants must be at least 13 and take part in staggered wave starts while raising funds for Cancer Research UK.

A 47 miles (75K) fully waymarked ultra around Lake Windermere open to runners and walkers, with GPS tracking, six feed stations and a bag drop at Troutbeck. Competitors must carry mandatory kit and complete the route within 24 hours.

A 24 hour ultra from Prestatyn along the Offa's Dyke Path where solo runners and teams aim to reach the furthest south point in the allotted time. Six staffed checkpoints, GPS tracking and a mandatory kit list support participants.

A multi-distance event on 8 May 2027 at UCLAN Sports Arena using a 5K loop for 5K, 10K, half, marathon and timed ultra options.

115 km multi-discipline race from Abersoch beach to Snowdon and back, featuring a sea swim, mountain ascent and return bike with a beach finish.

A 22.5 km fell race near Downham, Lancashire with about 1250 m of ascent, limited to 200 runners and open to adults only. Pre-entry and on the day entry are available with permit and UK Athletics insurance provided by the FRA.

A 14.5 km fell race on 8 May 2027 from Rydal Hall, Ambleside, with 914 m ascent. Entrants need fell-racing experience and map-and-compass navigation; the route is only partly flagged and has five checkpoints.

A fully supported 75 miles (120 km) point-to-point trail across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire with six checkpoints, a relay option and a 24 hour limit.

Trail races around Moel Famau in the Clwydian Range offering Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k on hilly off-road routes. Checkpoints provide refill taps, mandatory safety kit is required and canicross entries are accepted.

An off-road 10 km run in Llangollen along the canal on 9 May 2027, with an undulating yet quick course. The event includes a finisher medal and a separate one mile race for children aged 5 to 10.

A measured, chip-timed 5k through Middlewich canals and trails with a family fun run on the cricket pitch; medals, goody bags and age-group prizes for finishers.

A multi distance run through central Preston parklands on 9 May 2027, starting and finishing at Avenham Park. Routes use hard surface paths with looped courses, medical cover, a bespoke medal and an ultra option within a six hour limit.

A 7.5 mile clockwise circuit around Carsington Reservoir with waterside views, a bespoke finisher medal and technical t shirt options; open to entrants aged 16 and over with an entry limit and specified online fees.

An off road 10k and 15k in Scorton, Lancashire on 9 May 2027, across countryside and woodland. Entries include chip timing, a tech T shirt, a medal and water stations.

A chip timed half marathon through Sherwood Pines on 9 May 2027, run on traffic free forest trails with distance markers and water stations. Entries are limited and prizes include individual, age group and team awards.

An evening pop-up run in Kirkstall offering 5k and 10k options, on-site medals and a soft drink; payment is available on the day or online and the event is TRA licensed under UKA rules.

A measured 50 km route from Telford Town Park to Shrewsbury that passes historic sites such as Ironbridge, Buildwas Abbey and Wroxeter Roman City. The event features chip timing, five nutrition stations and a bespoke finish medal.

A flat out and back trail event along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Gargrave, North Yorkshire, offering 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon distances with water stations, marshals, signage and bespoke finisher medals.

A 50-mile point-to-point trail from Kendal to Preston on 15 May 2027 with seven checkpoints, mandatory kit, participant tracking and a 13 hour cut-off. Pre-registration only, entry fee £95 and registration closes 9 May.
