National Forest Way Ultra 75

The National Forest Way Ultra is a point-to-point trail race covering 75 miles (120 km) from Alrewas Showground to Beacon Hill Country Park. The route crosses Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire and passes through ancient woodland, former mining landscapes, rolling farmland and off-road trails.

The event is fully supported with six stocked checkpoints positioned along the course. Checkpoints offer food, drinks and medical support; a medic or first responder is available at each location. The race provides GPS race tracking, free race photography and a finisher's medal. There is a 24 hour time limit for completion and checkpoint cut-offs are enforced.

The race is an official UTMB Index race in the 100K category; finishing the event contributes to a runner's UTMB Index score but does not award Running Stones for the UTMB Mont-Blanc lottery.

A team relay option allows three-person teams to complete the full route, with each team member required to run a minimum of 20 miles. Relay changeovers must occur at designated checkpoints in the presence of race staff; more than one team member may be on the course only for the final mile at a squad meet-up point. No pacers or support runners are permitted.

Entry requirements include a minimum age of 20, good health and prior completion of a marathon. Mandatory kit must be carried throughout the race, including a headtorch and backup light, waterproof jacket, survival blanket or bivvy bag, minimum 1 litre water capacity, mobile phone, whistle, nutrition and the GPX route file.
