Cottam Canter

Cottam Canter takes place on Saturday 9 May 2026 at the UCLAN Sports Arena in Cottam, Preston, Lancashire, PR2 1SG. The event starts in the grounds of the sports arena and follows the Lancaster canal towpath.

The route leads towards Preston, drops through canal locks, follows the Millennium Ribble Link, then passes through the tree-lined paths of Haslam Park where it loops around the park and lake before returning to the canal and back to the arena. The core circuit is a 5K loop used for all race distances.

  • 5K - £18 Affiliated, £20 Unattached
  • 10K - two 5K loops, £23 Affiliated, £25 Unattached
  • 1/2 Marathon - four 5K loops plus a short out/back, £27.50 Affiliated, £29.50 Unattached
  • Marathon - eight 5K loops plus a short out/back, £32 Affiliated, £34 Unattached
  • Ultra - as many laps as desired within a six hour limit, £37.50 Affiliated, £39.50 Unattached

All participants must be over 18. Participants aged 18 to 19 may run up to the marathon distance; over 20s have no maximum distance. Runners receive a bespoke medal and post-run refreshments and goodies. The UCLAN Sports Arena provides changing rooms, toilets, showers, a cafe and free parking.
