Course Overview

The event starts at the UCLAN Sports Arena in Cottam. The route uses the Lancaster Canal towpath, heading towards Preston. Runners then descend through canal locks, follow the Millennium Ribble Link, and pass through the tree-lined paths of Haslam Park, looping around its park and lake before returning to the canal.

Distances and Format

The event is based on a 5 km loop.

  • 10 km: 2 loops.
  • Half Marathon: 4 loops plus a short out-and-back section.
  • Marathon: 8 loops plus a short out-and-back section.
  • Ultra: As many laps as possible within a 6-hour time limit (the final lap must be started within 5 hours and 15 minutes).

Event Information

On the day, participants can expect sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial, and cola. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post-run goodies. The route is fully marked and has medical cover. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and has a Trail Running Association permit (number 8051).

Participant Requirements
