Monument Marathon Bury

Bury, United Kingdom • 30 Aug 2025

Monument Marathon is a 26-mile loop in and around Bury, starting and finishing at Burrs Country Park (Woodhill Road, BL8 1DA). The route links six of the area’s historic Tower Tour towers—Bradshaw Hall, Tentering, Radcliffe, Turton, Grant’s and Peel Towers—primarily along trail paths, passing through country parks and along waterways. Participants can run or walk; guided support is available, but self-sufficiency is encouraged.

The event emphasizes exploration and wellbeing over fast times. Perks include a finisher neck gaiter, a unique memento, regular aid checkpoints, and secure parking. Proceeds support The Sunnywood Project’s youth and outdoor programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
