Ribble Runfest

Ribble Runfest is a multi distance running event held in the parklands of central Preston on Sunday 16 August 2026. The event uses a looped course that starts close to Avenham Park cafe by the River Ribble, passes through Miller Park, crosses the river into Upper Farm nature reserve and leisure park, reaches a turn point and returns to the finish area.

Distances offered:

  • 10 km
  • Half marathon
  • Marathon
  • Ultra

The course is on hard surface paths. The 10 km route is one loop plus a short out and back. The half marathon is three loops, the marathon six loops and the ultra seven loops. There is a six hour time limit for all distances and the ultra’s final lap must be started within 5 hours 30 minutes.

Entries are capped at 100 maximum entrants, with entries closing on 14 August 2026. Entry fees vary by distance and by affiliated or unattached status. All participants must be at least 18 years old; those aged 18 to 19 may run up to the marathon distance only.

Support on course includes a stocked aid station offering sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial and coke, route signage and marshals. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post run refreshments. The event is held under a Trail Running Association race permit application.
