PFW Running - Ribble Runfest

The PFW Running - Ribble Runfest takes place in the parklands of central Preston. The course begins in Avenham Park next to the River Ribble and leads participants through Miller Park and into the Upper Farm nature reserve and leisure park. The route is primarily flat with some slight rises and consists of hard surface paths.

The event features four different distances, which are completed by running loops of the designated course:

  • 10 km: Consists of one full loop plus a short out-and-back section.
  • Half Marathon: Completed by running three loops of the course.
  • Marathon: Completed by running six loops of the course.
  • Ultra: Completed by running seven loops of the course.

Participants have a total time limit of six hours to complete their chosen distance. For the ultra distance, the final lap must be started by five hours and thirty minutes into the event. Registration is available for runners aged 18 and over, though participants aged 18 to 19 are restricted to a maximum distance of a marathon.

The event entry includes access to an aid station stocked with water, cordial, cola, and various sweet and savoury snacks. The route is marked with signs and staffed by marshals. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post-run chocolate. The start and finish area is located near the Avenham Park Cafe. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
