PFW Running - Ribble Runfest

PFW Running - Ribble Runfest takes place on Sunday, 23 August 2026 in central Preston. The event uses parkland around the River Ribble with the start and finish near Avenham Park Cafe, and the course passes through Miller Park and Upper Farm nature reserve and leisure park before returning to the finish area.

Distances offered:

  • 10K: 1 loop plus short out and back
  • Half Marathon: 3 loops
  • Marathon: 6 loops
  • Ultra: 7 loops, last lap must start within 5H 30min

The course is on hard surface paths and is described as trail and mainly flat with a few rises. A fully stocked aid station will provide sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial and coke. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post run chocolate. The route will be fully signed and marshalled.

The time limit for all distances is 6 hours. Entrant capacity is 100 and entries close 21/08/2026. Age rules require all participants to be over 18; those aged 18 to 19 may compete up to the marathon distance while participants aged 20 and over may enter any distance. Refunds are not permitted. Trail runs nearby

A 10 km adventure run with obstacles across roads, fields and canal paths near the Lake District, held during Holme's Festival of Sport weekend. Shorter 5 km options and a Mini Howler fun run are also part of the event.

Phoenix Blaze in Manchester is the second race of a 2026 Summer Series at Chorlton Water Park. Timed laps on a 5.3 km out-and-back course let participants cover distances from a single lap up to ultra within a seven hour limit.

A 11.1k trail run at Stonyhurst College on 11 July 2026 with 528 ft of elevation, passing woodland, historic bridges and the River Ribble. Organised by Stonyhurst Experience with on site parking and race goodies for finishers.

A point-to-point trail run from Bury to Rawtenstall alongside the East Lancashire Railway and the River Irwell. Runners try to keep pace with a steam train while supporters can ride the train; finishers receive a medal and T-shirt.
