Event Overview

The Ribble Runfest is a running event taking place in Preston. It offers multiple distances: a 10K, a Half Marathon, a Marathon, and an Ultra. The race start and finish is near the Avenham Park Café. The course begins in Avenham Park, by the River Ribble, passes through Miller Park, and crosses the river into Upper Farm Nature Reserve & Leisure Park before reaching a turn point and returning.

Course & Logistics

The course uses hard-surface paths. The 10K involves 1 loop plus a short out-and-back section. The Half Marathon is 3 loops, the Marathon is 6 loops, and the Ultra is 7 loops of the same course. A time limit of 6 hours applies to all distances. For the Ultra, the final lap must be started within 5 hours and 30 minutes. The event date is Sunday, 16 August 2026.

Participant Information

All participants must be over 18 years old. Runners aged 18-19 have a maximum allowed distance of the Marathon. Runners aged 20 and over have no maximum distance limit. The event is held under a Trail Running Association Race Permit. All runners receive a bespoke medal and post-run goodies. Sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial, and cola will be provided.
