PFW Running - Ribble Runfest

PFW Running - Ribble Runfest takes place on Sunday 23 August 2026 in central Preston, with start and finish close to Avenham Park Cafe, PR1 8JT. The route follows parkland by the River Ribble, passes through Miller Park and enters Upper Farm nature reserve and leisure park.

The course uses mainly hard surface paths and is described as mainly flat with a few rises. Loop formats are used for the longer distances and specific lap counts apply for each distance. A fully stocked aid station will offer sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial and coke. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post run chocolate. The route is signed and marshalled.

  • 10k: 1 loop plus a short out and back
  • Half marathon: 3 loops
  • Marathon: 6 loops
  • Ultra: 7 loops, last lap must start within 5 hours 30 minutes

Additional event details include a six hour time limit for all distances, a maximum of 100 entrants and an entries closing date of 21 August 2026. Participants must be 18 or over; 18 to 19 year olds may enter up to marathon distance only. Refunds are not permitted. Deferrals or transfers are allowed up to one week before the event. On a Plod MCR on 4 July at Steel Foundry CrossFit in Salford Quays is an inclusive backyard ultra on a 3 km loop. Participants may start anytime within a five hour window and run as many laps as they choose with live tracking and awards.
