Ribble Runfest, Preston

Ribble Runfest takes place on Sunday 16th August 2026 in central Preston, with start and finish close to Avenham Park cafe by the River Ribble. The route passes through Avenham Park, Miller Park and Upper Farm Nature Reserve and Leisure Park, with a turn point before returning to the finish area.

Distances and entry fees:

  • 10K: £22 Affiliated, £24 Unattached
  • 1/2 Marathon: £26 Affiliated, £28 Unattached
  • Marathon: £32 Affiliated, £34 Unattached
  • Ultra: £36 Affiliated, £38 Unattached

The course uses hard surface paths. The 10K is one loop plus a short out and back. The half marathon is three loops, the marathon six loops and the ultra seven loops. For the ultra the last lap must be started within 5 hours 30 minutes. There is a six hour time limit for all distances.

All participants must be over 18. Runners aged 18 to 19 may compete up to the marathon distance. Those aged 20 and over have no maximum distance specified.

Runners are provided with sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial and coke. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post run goodies. Choose your own distance on a flat, scenic 5.3km loop along the River Mersey. This timed event gives you 7 hours to run as many laps as you like, from a single lap to an ultra. Every participant earns a finisher's medal.
