PFW Running - Avenham Amble

PFW Running - Avenham Amble takes place on Sunday 9 May 2027 in and around Avenham Park in Preston. The route follows hard surface park paths beside the River Ribble, passes through Miller Park and crosses into Upper Farm nature reserve and leisure park, with the start and finish at Avenham Park Cafe.

Distances on offer include:

  • 10K: 1 loop plus a short out and back
  • Half marathon: 3 loops of the course
  • Marathon: 6 loops of the course
  • Ultra: as many laps as possible within a six hour limit

The event course is fully marked and medical cover is provided. On-course and post-run provision includes sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial and coke, plus a bespoke medal and post-run goodies. The event is held under UKA rules and a Trail Running Association race permit number is to be confirmed.

Entry and participation details note a maximum of 100 entrants and an entries close date of 7 May 2027. All participants must be over 18; ages 18 to 19 are limited to a maximum distance of a marathon while those over 20 may enter longer distances. Refunds are not permitted. Manchester Backyard Ultra at Giants Seat Scout Camp uses an out and back 4.167 mile loop run every hour until one runner remains. Facilities include hot showers, parking, participant medals, and a winner trophy.

A timed, multi-lap event at Chorlton Water Park using a 5.3 km out and back course along the River Mersey. Runners can cover one lap up to an ultra within a seven hour limit and all participants receive a finishers' medal.

A 9.7 km fell race on 14 June 2026 near Norden, Rochdale, climbing 396 m. Registration is at Norden Bowling Club with both pre-entry and on-the-day entry and team scoring for the first three finishers.

MacTuffX Manchester on 14 June 2026 in Eccles combines ten functional Xercises with 400 m or 800 m runs across Solo, Doubles and Relay formats, with a LITE weight division and a published leaderboard.
