PFW Running - Avenham Amble

A multi-distance running event on Sunday 10 May 2026 in Avenham Park, Preston. The course follows hard surface paths beside the River Ribble, passes through Miller Park and crosses into Upper Farm nature reserve and leisure park before returning to Avenham Park.

Distances offered:

  • 10K: one loop plus a short out and back.
  • Half marathon: three loops of the course.
  • Marathon: six loops of the course.
  • Ultra: as many laps as desired within a six hour limit.

The route will be fully marked and medical cover is provided. Post-race provisions include sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial and coke, plus a bespoke medal and post-run goodies. The event is held under UKA rules and carries Trail Running Association race permit number 8052.

Entries are limited to 52 participants and close on 03/05/2026. All participants must be over 18; ages 18-19 may enter up to the marathon distance, while those over 20 may enter longer distances. Trail event on the Calderdale Way with 50 mile and 30 mile options through moorland, villages and mill towns. Vegan friendly aid stations, GPS tracking and mandatory kit are included.

A long high level traverse of over 60 miles across the Yorkshire Dales from Ingleton to Threshfield on 25 and 26 April 2026. The route climbs more than 11,000 feet, is served by 25 checkpoints, and includes live tracking and on route food.

A Category AS fell race of 5.4 km with 280 m ascent around Todmorden, based at The Staff of Life Pub. Entries run 28 Feb to 26 Apr 2026, minimum age 14, and competitors must carry full FRA kit.

A midweek fell race in Wray on 28 April 2026 covering 11 km with 335 m climb. Entry is on the day only with a £5 fee and teams of three are permitted.
