Middlewich 5k and Fun Run

The Middlewich 5k and Family Fun Run takes place in Middlewich, featuring a course that utilizes the town's canals and trails. The route is primarily off-road and mostly flat, though participants encounter the Middlewich 3 Lock Challenge during the race. The event consists of two main distances:

  • 5 km
  • Family Fun Run

The 5 km race is open to participants aged 16 and over. This course is officially measured and uses chip timing to record results. It begins at The Big Lock Pub and concludes at the Middlewich Cricket Club. The Family Fun Run is held entirely at the Middlewich Cricket Club and consists of three laps around the cricket pitch.

Registration and event facilities are located at the Middlewich Cricket Club, where refreshments are available. Additional refreshments can be found at the Big Lock. Participation in the 5 km event is limited to 220 entries, while the Fun Run is limited to 150 entries.

Finishers in both the 5 km and the Fun Run receive a medal and a goodie bag. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 5 km, as well as winners in the V40, V50, and V60 age categories. For safety reasons, the use of wheelchairs, bikes, buggies, or skates is not permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
