Middlewich 5k and Fun Run

The Middlewich 5k and Family Fun Run takes place on 10 May 2026 in Middlewich. The official 5k is sold out; limited places remain for the Family Fun Run.

The 5 km route is mostly off road and follows canals and local trails. The course is officially measured and chip timed. Although mainly flat, the route includes the Middlewich 3 Lock Challenge.

The race starts at The Big Lock Pub and finishes at Middlewich Cricket Club. Registration and refreshments are available at Middlewich Cricket Club, with additional refreshments at The Big Lock.

All finishers receive a medal and a goodie bag. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers, and to age group winners in V40, V50, and V60 categories.

Trail races around Castleton with waymarked short and long courses, varied terrain and panoramic ridge views. The event uses small group waved starts, requires kit for runners, offers bakery refreshments and supports path repairs.

A ladies five mile trail race in Worsley on 3 May 2026, organised by Swinton Running Club and based at Beesley Green Community Centre. Online entries open at midnight on 31 December and standard ticket fees apply.

A four hour endurance run on a 5.3 km circuit in New Mills where participants complete as many laps as possible. Entries are now full; minimum age 18 and entry fee £25.

A hilly five mile trail and fell race from Rainow on the edge of the Peak District, taking in White Nancy and the Kerridge ridge. The event is pre-entry only, serves teas and cakes after the race, and donates proceeds to local charities.
