Pendle Cloughs Fell Race
The Pendle Cloughs Fell Race is an AL category fell running event organized by Clayton-le-Moors Harriers. The course covers a total distance of 14 miles (22.5 km) and involves 4101 ft (1250 m) of elevation gain. The route features steep climbs, rough moorland, and sections with few established paths.
The event takes place in the vicinity of Downham. For the first 12 miles, the course navigates around the hill before concluding with a final 2-mile downhill section to the finish line. The race is held under UKA rules and is registered with the FRA. Because of the technical nature of the terrain and the category of the race, participants must carry full FRA mandatory kit. Kit checks are performed during registration, and runners without the required equipment will not be permitted to start or will face disqualification if missing kit at the finish.
Registration and parking are located at Downham Village Hall, situated near Clitheroe. There is additional parking available at the village Information Centre. The starting point is located at a separate field corner, requiring a short walk from the registration area.
The event is open to individuals aged 18 or older. Checkpoint cut-offs are in effect throughout the race; runners who do not reach these points within the designated times must withdraw and return to the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
