Pendle Cloughs Fell Race

The Pendle Cloughs Fell Race is an AL category fell running event organized by Clayton-le-Moors Harriers. The course covers a distance of 22.5 km (14 miles) and includes a total ascent of 1250 m (4101 ft). Participants must be at least 18 years of age on the day of the event to take part.

The terrain consists of steep climbs, rough moorland, and a limited number of established paths. The route involves navigating around the hill for approximately 12 miles before a final descent of 2 miles leading toward the finish line. Due to the nature of the course, checkpoint cut-offs are implemented; runners who do not reach these points within the designated times must return directly to the finish.

Event administration and car parking are located at Downham Village Hall, situated near Clitheroe. Additional parking is available at the village Information Centre. The starting point for the race is located at grid ref 784 438, which is a 10 minute walk from the registration area.

The event is held under UKA rules and is registered with the FRA. As an AL category race, runners are required to carry full FRA mandatory kit. This equipment must be presented for checking at registration. Participants found without the required kit at the finish will be disqualified.
