Trail Running calendar near Holdgate 2026-2027

A long established 4 3/4 mile cross country race around Thorpe in the Derbyshire Peak District, featuring field paths and a river crossing at the Stepping Stones. A separate 1 1/4 mile Mini Dash is held for children.

Wild Run Oxford is planned for 4 October 2026 (TBC) on Oxford's nearby trails, with a 10K and a Half Marathon on mixed smooth and rugged terrain; the event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and UK Athletics.

A 32 mile trail ultra based at Camp Plas in the Cambrian Mountains. The event is limited to 100 runners, run on a fully marked route with support and a 14 hour cut off, with on-site camping, showers, food and live music.

Tackle 55 km through the Forest of Dean, from ridges and dense woodland to the River Wye and Symonds Yat viewpoint. Technical single track and riverside sections offer scenic challenge and there is a canicross category.

Tideswell Terminator is a Peak District fell race on 10 October 2026, covering 9.1 km with 283 m of climb across scenic hills. Pre entry only, age 18 plus, this short course is a bracing test for fell runners.

Run the Sheffield TenTenTen at Endcliffe Park, a lively mixed terrain 10k through grass, paths and woodland that welcomes all abilities. A 2.5k fun run invites kids and families for a friendly, accessible day of outdoor running.

A trail running festival at Cannock Chase Forest on 11 October 2026 offering half marathon, 10K, 5K and a junior race, with chip timing, a themed medal, race photos and an event village with food and partner goodies.

Join the 20th Andrew Heywood Memorial Windgather on 11 Oct 2026 in the Peak District, a 21.7 km trail with 762 m ascent starting at the Burbage Institute, Buxton. Pre entry is advised and pre entries receive a commemorative memento.

A half marathon and 10k around Carsington Water on undulating trail paths, with marked kilometres, marshals and GPX route files. Entry includes a themed medal, water and post race goodies.

A 31 miles trail run through the Amber Valley with a 20 miles northern loop option. Routes are largely unmarked but GPX and route notes are provided, with checkpoints, medals, prizes and medic cover on course.

Trail races at Loggerheads provide 6 km and 12 km routes, including a 6 km canicross, on marked and marshalled trails in a family friendly park setting. There are no time limits.

A 50 km trail along the Brenig Way from Corwen to Llyn Brenig with 1450 m ascent, marked waymarkers, a GPX file and three checkpoints offering refreshments.

Blaze the Biblins on 18 October 2026 is a scenic 10k trail race through ancient woods and riverbanks near Ross on Wye. Expect technical single track, climbs including the notorious Demon hill, and a lively village finish.

Keynsham Dandy is an off-road race on Sunday 18 October 2026 around Keynsham. The roughly 12.5 mile course starts at The New Inn and includes the revived Compton Dando route with a stream feature.

Halloween 7in7 at Pengethley Manor, Ross on Wye offers seven consecutive days of off road laps through vineyards and a hill, with distances from 5k to ultra. Walk or run any day or go virtual and collect seven themed medals.
