Bath Skyline 5km & 10km

The event stages night and day trail races around the Bath Skyline from the West Car Park at the University of Bath, BA2 7AY. Distances available include:

  • 500 m kids fun run for day races
  • 5 km trail run, minimum age 12
  • 10 km trail run, minimum age 14

Races are run in waves of about 100 runners. There are no cut offs, though pure walkers are not permitted; mixed run, jog and walk participation is allowed. A separate canicross wave is included during the day races; the course has one stone stile and is not suitable for buggies. Runners may run with more than one dog but only entries with a single dog are eligible for prizes.

Terrain includes solid stone paths, woodland trails and open grass meadows with puddles and muddy sections; courses are largely flat with only small rises. Routes are comprehensively marked and marshalled; night races are marked with glow sticks and reflective signs and require runners to provide their own head torch. The 10 km course includes one on-course drinks station; there is no drinks station on the 5 km. The finish area provides water and a variety of snacks including gluten free, dairy free and vegan options.

All finishers of 5 km and longer receive a two sided 10 cm x 10 cm event medal. Onsite facilities include toilets, a coffee van and a bag drop; there are no changing rooms. Parking for night runners is free from 17:00 and day parking is charged at £3 via the Just Park app. The nearest train station is Bath Spa, about 1.5 miles from the university. Prize categories and awarding depend on the number of finishers in each race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
