Saturn Running stages The Smurf Run at Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare, CF44 7PS. The event is themed around Smurf characters and awards a themed medal to any runner who completes at least 3 km.

The event is presented as a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows participants to choose how many laps to run. A full lap is given as 4.37 miles (7 km) but this may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The course is on well maintained footpaths around the country park and offers views of the surrounding countryside. The regular course may be revised after a health and safety review.

• 3 km minimum
• 5 km
• 10 km
• Half marathon (3 laps)
• Marathon (6 laps)
• 50 km
• Ultra marathon (7 laps or more)
• 7 hour Time Challenge

Finishers receive a themed medal and distance pins for half marathon, mega half, marathon, 50 km and ultra achievements; one pin is attached to the medal ribbon. All finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option. An aid table and drinks table are provided at the start and finish of each lap offering drinks and snacks with vegan choices and ice cream options.

Venue facilities include toilets, a cafe adjacent to race HQ, and free parking. There are no separate changing rooms or showers. A bag drop area is available but not secure.
