Callow Fell Race

Callow Fell Race is an AS class fell race covering 8 km with 762 m of ascent. The route starts near Little Stretton and rises via four steep valley climbs before finishing on a fast descent.

The course is partially marked, so navigational skills are required and local knowledge is beneficial. Full WFRA kit is mandatory: waterproof top and trousers with taped seams, hat (a buff counts as a hat), gloves, compass, whistle, map, food and drink as needed for the conditions, and something to carry the kit. GPS devices must not be used for navigation.

Previous fellrunning experience or mountain skills are recommended because marshals and signage will be limited. Minimum age for competitors is over 17.

Course records are 51:10 (male, 2002) and 61:02 (female, 2007). The event location is Ragleth Inn, Little Stretton, SY6 6RB, grid reference GR 444919 on OS sheet 137. Parking is very limited; competitors are asked not to obstruct local residents and not to use pub car parks. Entry fees are £7 online and £10 on the day, with limited entry available on the day. The event is insured by WFRA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
