Ranger Ultras Peak District South and North

The event is the 11th edition of a two day trail race based in Edale, covering the southern White Peak on Day 1 and the northern Dark Peak on Day 2. The route passes tree-lined vales, high moors, plateau, notable peaks and gritstone edges, run in late autumn to winter conditions with mixed navigation challenges. The course starts and finishes in Edale.

Distances and ascent options

  • Stage 1 only 50 km, total ascent 899 m
  • Stage 2 only 43 km, total ascent 1192 m
  • Full South and North 93 km

Support and race services include Ranger Safety Team presence at HQ, road head and hill top locations, navigation notes and a GPX file for entered participants. On course provisions include snacks, fruit, soft drinks and soup; HQ hospitality offers tea, coffee, pizza and pasta. Finishers receive medals and trophies are awarded to first male and first female in each stage and for the full event.

Low cost bed and breakfast accommodation is offered at The Peak Centre, Edale, with bunkroom and camp bed options available at published prices and limited capacity. Other local accommodation options are noted. There is no participant parking at The Peak Centre; parking is in Edale village public car park, a short walk from HQ.
