Peak District South & North

Peak District South & North is a two day late autumn trail running weekend organised by Ranger Ultras and based in Edale, Peak District. The routes tour highlights of the White Peak and Dark Peak and use sections of the Pennine Way and the Pennine Bridleway.

  • 43 km Dark Peak (Day Two) total ascent 1649 m
  • 93 km Both Days combined

The course is not waymarked beyond fixed finger posts but is wholly on public rights of way. GPX files are sent to entries in advance and navigation and course notes are provided. Several on course refreshment and drinks points are available and all race transport is included. Hot food and refreshments are provided at the finish.

Event logistics include registration and kit checks across the event days, bookable bunkroom and breakfast accommodation options, and parking in Edale. The village offers additional B&B accommodation, pubs and shops. Finishers receive eco medals and winners trophies are awarded to the fastest male and female on the 43 km, 50 km and 93 km courses. Age category trophies are awarded for overall fastest on the 93 km in designated age groups. The event is held under a Trail Running Association permit and follows England Athletics competition rules; participants must be 20 years or older on race day. A donation is made to National Trails. Trail runs nearby

A village fell race in mid May around Hayfield featuring a course of about 3 miles and 700 ft ascent that includes the summit of Lantern Pike. Entry is on the day with modest fees for seniors and juniors.

A 5 miles fell race near Hayfield on 16 May 2026 with about 1500 ft of ascent. Registration and free parking are at Hayfield Scout Hut and entry is on the day only with member and non member fees.

A Royal Marines designed obstacle course in Cheshire on 16 May 2026 with 6K and 10K routes, Classic and Rookie formats, finisher items and an Event Village with food and music. An Elite Squadron offers chip timing and prizes.

The Holcombe 10 offers *10K* and *10 Mile* trail routes across Holcombe Moor, passing Peel Tower and Redisher Woods. Water stations are at Peel Tower and the National Trust ranger base and proceeds support The Sunnywood Project.
