Peak District South & North

Peak District South & North is a two day trail running weekend based in Edale, Peak District, now in its ninth year. It offers separate single day options and a combined both days option with clearly stated distances.

Distances:

  • 50 km White Peak day
  • 43 km Dark Peak day
  • 93 km Combined both days

The route follows public rights of way and includes sections of the Pennine Way and Pennine Bridleway. The course is not waymarked except for fixed finger posts; GPX files and course notes are provided to entrants in advance. Several on course refreshment and drinks points are provided and there are hot food and refreshments at the finish. All race transport is included.

Total ascent is provided for each day with Saturday around 1439 metres and Sunday around 1649 metres. The event is based in Edale where there is parking and a range of accommodation options, including bookable hostel bunkroom and breakfast options and local B and B, pubs and shops. There is pre and post event hospitality at race headquarters and finishers receive eco medals; winners trophies and age category trophies are awarded on specified courses. The event is held under a Trail Running Association permit and England Athletics competition rules. Participants must be 20 years or older on race day. Parwich Panoramic Five on Tue 4 Aug 2026 is an 8.5 km fell race in the Peak District with 200 m of climb, held at the Sycamore Inn in Parwich. Entry on the day is available for £5 and the minimum age is 18.

A mid-summer out-and-back fell race from Mytholmroyd to Crow Hill and back, about 5 miles with 305 m ascent, including a woodland descent through Redacre Woods. Part of Todmorden Harriers' Summer Series.

A new 4 mile route around Bradwell in the Peak District on Tue 4 Aug 2026 climbs 276 m for a rewarding hill challenge. Teams welcome and pre entry opens in May with on the day entries available at Bradwell Sports Pavilion.

An 11.3 km fell race in Hayfield, Peak District, with 442 m of climb, permit and UK Athletics insurance, entry available beforehand or on the day, teams allowed.
