Greater Manchester 200 Ultra

The Greater Manchester 200 Mile Ultramarathon is a single-stage, continuous 200 mile race following the GM Ringway. The event is scheduled for 21–25 November 2026 in Greater Manchester. Key facts: the course includes approximately 5,545 m of elevation, there are 150 places, the overall cut-off is 96 hours and the entry fee is £499. The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules; ITRA and UTMB mountain performance index points are to be allocated.

The route includes 10 GB Ultras checkpoints that provide refreshments, hot food at some village hall locations and vegan and vegetarian options. Medical cover such as a medic, first responder or first aider will be available at checkpoints. Checkpoint cut-offs are enforced by the organisers.

Logistics include a start and finish venue at the Imperial War Museum North, and live online tracking via GB Race Tracker. Dropbags are permitted at CP3, CP5, CP8 and at the finish; bags must meet size and weight limits and will be transported to the finish once a checkpoint closes.

Entrants must be at least 20 years old and demonstrate a solid background in endurance or ultrarunning; solo training runs are not accepted as qualifying experience. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and includes a GPS device with GPX access, waterproof coat and trousers with sealed seams, power bank (min 5,000 mAh), 1 litre water capacity, headtorch (min 100 lumens), backup light (min 50 lumens), whistle, survival bag and emergency food (min 500 kcal). Trail runs nearby

A 3 km or 5 km run at Bowdon Rugby Club with drinking stations every kilometre and a mix of inflatable and non inflatable obstacles. Drinks are included and only participants aged 18 or over may take part.

Three trail routes start at Bakewell Showground and explore varied Peak District terrain including moors, valleys and parts of the Pennine Way. The Half Marathon route includes outposts and does not allow dogs.

A timed track ultra at Woodbank Park where runners complete as many 400 m laps as possible within 6, 12 or 24 hour limits, with chip timing, an aid station and indoor facilities on site.

Test yourself on a scenic fell course in the South West Pennines near Kelbrook, 5.5 km with 213 m of climb. On the day entry only, £7, with £2 parking at The Old Barn. Teams welcome and minimum age 16; no junior races.
