Trail Running calendar near Gatesgarth 2026-2027

A backyard ultra in Gisburn Forest where runners complete a fully off road loop each hour until one person remains. Field capped at 200 with prizes for top finishers and an extra award for anyone exceeding 100 mile.

Run the Bronte Way fell race through the South/West Pennines, a scenic 12 km point to point with 351 m of climb. Pre entry only with limited bus support and a warming soup and roll at the finish make this a classic autumn challenge.

Take on the classic Buttermere fell race on 25 October 2026 at Gatesgarth Farm, a tough 5 km senior route with 600 m of climbing plus short junior races. Enjoy a traditional shepherds meet atmosphere, entry on the day and a warm drink.

An obstacle course race for dogs and owners on Aske estate near Richmond, North Yorkshire. Routes of 5 km and 10 km feature marked obstacles and an 850 metre assault section through mud and water.

A traditional fell race on Halloween covering 4.3 miles with over 800 ft of ascent between the Summit Inn and the White House pub near Blackstone Edge. Junior categories are included and costume prizes are awarded.

A trail race at Sankey Visitors Centre in St Helens on 1 November 2026, organised by St Helens Striders with a 250 place limit and a minimum age of 15. Entries are handled through SiEntries and parking is very limited.

Trail running on Ullswater from Jenkin's Field in Glenridding with 10k and 14k options. Boat transfers may take runners to the start or contingency routes are used, and compulsory kit and marshals are enforced for safety.

A relaxed canicross event at Mere Sands Wood on 1 November 2026, with a timed one mile run or walk and an optional 2.5 km social run on mostly flat woodland trails.

Trail event at Grizedale Forest on 1 November 2026 offering marked, chip-timed 5K and 10K loops with GPX files and the option to run with up to two dogs on wide forest paths.
