Gibside National Trust Wild Trail Runs 2026

The event takes place at Gibside National Trust, Rowlands Gill, Gateshead on Wednesday 29 April 2026 as an evening trail running meeting within the estate grounds. It uses the Gibside designed landscape and surrounding woodland for marked trail routes.

Gibside covers over 600 acres of gardens, woodland, and countryside and is an 18th-century designed landscape with wildlife and historic architecture. Notable features on the routes include the Neo-classical Chapel, a restored stable block, and a large ruin; deer may be present along the trails.

  • 5 km Trail Run (age 11+)
  • 10 km Trail Run (age 15+)

The event is Canicross friendly with one controlled dog allowed per runner. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North and results are available during the event. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack & drink. An exclusive event T-shirt is offered as an optional add-on for £12.00. Parking is available on site.
