Hardmoors 26.2 White Horse Trail Marathon

Hardmoors 26.2 White Horse is a trail running event at Sutton Bank Visitor Centre, near Thirsk in North Yorkshire, taking place on Sunday 9 May 2027. Entry is limited to 250 participants. The event offers multiple distances and published ascent and time limits for each distance.

  • Half Marathon - 16.5, ascent 1900 feet, cut-off 6 hours
  • 10k - 7, ascent 1600 feet, cut-off 4 hours

Entry fees include a small donation to the Cleveland Way National Trail. Prices are listed separately for attached and unattached runners, and a race t-shirt is available for an additional fee. Entries open for voucher holders on 31 May 2026 and for general entries on 7 June 2026. Entries close on 16 April 2027.

Mandatory kit requirements differ by distance. Marathon and Half Marathon competitors must carry items such as a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, printed route description and map, capacity for 500ml fluid, a survival bag, foil blanket, and means to attach a race number. 10k runners have a reduced mandatory kit list. Failure to carry mandatory kit may lead to disqualification.

Courses are not fully marked. Competitors must download and print route descriptions, maps, and GPX files and navigate themselves. The event is cupless, and no dogs, refunds, or deferrals are permitted under standard terms. Two waymarked trail races of 5 km and 10 km take place around Kirkby Fleetham on 9 June 2026, both finishing at the village hall. Routes run through fields, farms and forestry and are open to participants aged 16 and above.

A scenic out and back trail from Otley to Pateley Bridge on the Six Dales Trail, offered over 13, 20 and 32 mile distances with checkpoints, trackers and mandatory kit requirements.

A 24 mile fell run and challenge walk through Swaledale on 13 June 2026, organised by Swaledale Outdoor Club. Competitors must navigate the route themselves and finish within 10 hours; minimum age 14.

Trail races from Chop Gate with three distances : Marathon (28), Half 16.5 and 10k 9.5. Entries limited to 330, mandatory safety kit is required and competitors must print route maps and navigate themselves.
