Hardmoors 26.2 White Horse is a trail race day held at Sutton Bank Visitor Centre near Thirsk, North Yorkshire on Sunday 10 May 2026. The event is held under an ARC permit and entry is limited to 250 runners. Entry fees vary by distance and affiliation; optional race t-shirts are available for an extra fee. The organiser includes a £1 donation to the Cleveland Way National Trail with entries.

Race format, rules and course

The event offers three circular trail courses:

  • Marathon (trail distance)
  • Half Marathon (trail distance)
  • Trail 10k (8 miles listed in event material)

Mandatory kit must be carried for all races; for the marathon and half marathon this includes a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, printed route description and map, capacity to carry 500 ml fluid, survival bag and foil blanket. Failure to carry compulsory kit will result in disqualification. The races are not fully taped or signed - competitors must navigate using provided downloadable maps, route descriptions and GPX files and are required to print and carry these. The event is cupless; competitors should bring their own cup. Dogs are not permitted. Time limits apply: 9 hours for the marathon, 6 hours for the half marathon and 4 hours for the 10k.
