Hardmoors 26.2: White Horse takes place on Sunday 10 May 2026 at Sutton Bank Visitor Centre, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. The event is part of the Hardmoors 26.2 series and has a field limit of 250 entries. Entries open 13 July 2025 and close in mid April 2026. Entry fees listed include: Marathon £49 attached / £51 unattached; Half Marathon £36 / £38; 10k £28 / £30. A race T-shirt is optional for £10. The event is cupless - competitors should bring their own cup. Dogs are not allowed.

Race format and requirements

  • Distances:
    • Trail Marathon - about 28-29 miles
    • Trail Half Marathon - about 16.5-17 miles
    • Trail 10k - 8 miles

Courses are circular and start/finish at Sutton Bank Visitor Centre. Races are not fully taped or signed; competitors receive downloadable maps, route descriptions and GPX files and must navigate themselves. Compulsory kit must be carried throughout the race and non-compliance may lead to disqualification. Required items for Marathon and Half include a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, printed map/route description, capacity to carry 500 ml fluid, survival bag, foil blanket and means to attach the race number. Required items for the 10k include printed map, survival bag, foil blanket and race number attachments. Time limits are 9 hours (Marathon), 6 hours (Half) and 4 hours (10k); competitors not meeting cutoffs may be retired at checkpoints. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
