The James Herriot Run takes place on 26 July 2026. The venue is Bolton Castle, in Castle Bolton near Leyburn, North Yorkshire. The race covers a distance of 14 km (8.7 miles) and involves 305 m (1001 ft) of climb. It is a fell run with a permit and insurance from the Fell Running Association (FRA).

Entry Information

Entry is available both in advance and on the day of the race. The pre-entry fee is £15.00, while the entry-on-day fee is £20.00. Online entry is via Bookitzone and an entry form is also available on the event website. The minimum age for participants is 18.

Teams are allowed, with categories for a men's team of four, a ladies' team of four, and a mixed team of two men and one woman. The current male record is 50:42, set by Graham Rush in 2022. The female record is 58:16, set by L. Brown in 2011.
