Trail Running calendar near Formby 2026-2027

Pop up Summer Series at Kirkstall in Leeds with 5k and 10k races. Runners can turn up on the evening and pay on the day or online; hot food, a jumble medal and a drink are provided.

A trail event in Skipton on 29 August 2026 offering 13, 20, 34 and 50 mile routes across Pennine Way and Dales Way. Checkpoints, mandatory kit and trackers are part of the event and minimum age is 18.

A 130-mile non-stop canal run from Liverpool to Leeds along historic towpaths, open to those aged 20+. Options include Supported or limited Unsupported places, feed points every 10–15 miles, and a 40-hour completion limit.

Join the Arnison Crag Horseshoe fell race in Patterdale on Sat 29 Aug 2026, starting at King George Playing Fields as part of Patterdale Dog Day. A steep 5 km with 300 m climb, entries on the day £5, minimum age 14.

Tackle a classic Pennines fell race in Pendleton on 29 August 2026. The 8 km course packs 457 m of ascent across rough terrain, with on the day entries and homemade cakes and a cosy village pub to reward you.

The Dales Dazzler will take place in Skipton on Saturday 29 August 2026.

Hebden Sports is a BOFRA fell race at Powder House Field, Hebden, featuring a 1.50 mile route with about 400 feet of climb over fell terrain with walls and streams. Junior and senior races are held on the same course.

The BOFRA - Reeth Show will take place in Reeth on Monday 31 August 2026.

Join the Dark Side Of The Combe on Mon 31 Aug 2026 in the Lake District as part of the Black Combe Country Fair at Bootle. This 12.5 km fell race with 625 m ascent is a tough, scenic test and has on the day entry.

Take on the Barrow Keswick Show Fellrunner on Mon 31 Aug 2026 in the Lake District: a punchy 6.5 km four mile course with 425 m climb, starting in the show ring and finishing by the showfield. Entry on the day £10, ages 15 and up welcome.

A 10 km fell race in Eyam on 1 September 2026 with moorland climbs to Sir William Hill and a 3 km junior race. Prizes come from The Barrel Inn at Bretton and a barbecue and bar operate after the race.

Kilnsey Crag Fell Race at the Kilnsey Show in the York Dales is a short, steep blast up iconic Kilnsey Crag that tests speed and nerve. The senior race is pre entry only while free junior races make it a lively family event.

Muker Show Fell Race on 2 September 2026 is a short fell race of 1.40 miles (2.25 km) with a 550 feet climb, featuring a river crossing, a climb to Fremington Edge and a finish in the show ring and counting for the BOFRA senior championship..

Evening 5 mile fell race from Whitworth over Brown Wardle, Middle Hill and Hades Hill, with FRA kit, cut off on the first climb and team competition for adults.

Coastal ultra marathon events on Anglesey include a 130 mile full circumnavigation and a 47 mile point to point race along the coastal path. Routes are mainly trail based, include checkpoints with cut-offs, and feature significant ascent.

Challenge yourself on the Great Longstone Chase, a classic fell race in the Peak District with 4.8 miles of rugged trail and 290 m of climb. Limited to 200 pre entered runners, the event also offers junior races and post race refreshments.

A 10 km trail race in Malham on 5 September 2026 that passes Malham Cove and Malham Tarn, includes a climb to Weets Top and a long descent with views. The course is partially way marked and includes drinks stations and a post race meal.

A charity trail running festival near Huddersfield with 50 mile, 50 km, 27 km, 10 km and a junior 1.4 km run, waymarked routes, timed results and staffed feed stations.

Groovy Baby Love is a Peak District fell race from Hayfield Scout Hut on Sat 5 Sep 2026, 16 km with 675 m climb across unmarked ground. Mandatory kit and navigation skills required; pre entry and day entries available.

A 102 mile, 5,172 m elevation ultramarathon across Snowdonia on 5 September 2026 with 11 checkpoints and a 42 hour cut off. The course is self navigated and runners are tracked online via GB Race Tracker.
