Phoenix Manchester Friday Firecracker

Phoenix Manchester stages a timed, lap-based event at Hardy Farm in Chorlton Water Park along the River Mersey. Participants run repeated laps of a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out-and-back circuit on a riverside towpath. The course is off road trail with very little elevation gain or loss.

• Ultra distance using repeated laps of the 5.3 km circuit

The minimum recorded distance is 3.28 miles and participants may complete as many or as few laps as they choose within a seven hour time limit. All finishers receive a bespoke finishers' medal. A mandatory race brief is sent one week before the event.

An aid station is available throughout the day with vegetarian options and a range of vegan and gluten free items. Examples of supplies include bananas, dates, jelly sweets, crisps, cake, squash and cola. Participants with severe or life threatening allergies are advised to bring their own food because cross-contamination cannot be guaranteed.

Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and changing rooms. On-site parking at Hardy Farm accommodates 75 cars on a first come, first served basis. Additional parking for up to 100 cars is available across the river at Sale Water Park, about a 15 minute walk from the start, with further public and paid parking nearby.
