Darkwood Demon - Colne Valley trail race

Darkwood Demon is a trail race organised by Slaithwaite Striders RC on Sunday 13 September 2026 in the Colne Valley near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The course is a single hilly lap that starts on valley trails and finishes at Zapato Brewery at Holme Mills, Marsden.

The route covers approximately 6.0 miles (9.7 km) with about 990 feet (300 metres) of ascent. Surfaces are mainly trail (about 85%) with some road (about 15%). The race is chip timed and is fully marshalled and waymarked; navigation is not required. There are no compulsory kit requirements, but trail shoes are strongly recommended. Trophies are inscribed for first place male and female, with prizes for the top three male and female finishers and additional age category prizes. Course records are listed as male 36:58 and female 47:56.
