The Lap - Windermere Ultra Anticlockwise

The Lap is an approximately 47 mile (about 75 km) fully waymarked ultra around Lake Windermere, open to runners and walkers. The event provides GPS trackers, a waterproof foldable map and GPX of the route. Route support includes six stocked feed and aid stations with a halfway aid station at Troutbeck where a bag drop for spare shoes is provided.

Competitors have a 24 hour time limit to complete the course and cutoffs apply from the halfway aid station; organisers publish additional cutoffs at later feed stations. All entrants must carry the mandatory kit at all times and random kit checks take place on course. A headtorch is required if arriving at a feed station after dark; phone lights are not acceptable. Trackers are attached to the race vest by officials and must be returned after the event.

Registration is in person at Race HQ on the designated evening before the race and photo ID is required. Race HQ is at Low Cunsey Farm, Cunsey, Ambleside, Cumbria LA22 0LU; parking is on grass near HQ and motorhomes are not permitted. Spectators may not enter feed stations, pacers are not allowed and outside assistance is prohibited. All finishers receive a bespoke wooden finisher medal and a finishers meal; podium prizes are awarded in standard categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
