Trail Running calendar near Ennerdale Bridge 2026-2027

A weekend of off-road running in Grasmere featuring the OMM Lite Trail Quest, the Grasmere 24 hour ultra and a range of trail races, family events, camping, parking and workshops.

A 16 km unmarked hill race in the Lowther Hills with 1200 m of climb, limited to 200 runners. Competitors must carry mandatory kit, bring a refillable cup for water stations, and be prepared to navigate open, pathless terrain.

A fully waymarked 42 km trail around Grasmere and nearby valleys with about 1905 m of ascent. The event provides course drinks, a checkpoint with snacks, tracker hire, mandatory kit checks and a Langdale slate medal at the finish.

Settle Saunter is an annual walking and running event around Settle in the Yorkshire Dales offering 10k, half marathon and 23 miles routes. Routes are mapped and flagged and SPORTident timing will be used.

A trail event on 31 May 2026 around Ullswater offering three distances. The 33.5 mile ultra includes Lowther and Dalemain loops, the 21.5 mile is a full lake lap, and the 10 mile runs from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding.

Three Ullswater Way trail races in Cumbria offer a 33.5 mile Ultra, a 21.5 mile Trail 20 and a 10 mile Trail 10. Registration is at Jenkins Field in Glenridding and Trail 10 starts at Pooley Bridge.

Experience a multi-terrain running festival along the scenic Cumbrian Coastal path. Choose between an 11.75k, 5k, or a 1 mile family fun run with views of the Lakeland fells and Duddon Estuary.

June 2026

A weeklong running series from 1 to 6 June 2026 featuring timed races, distinctive medals and post-race activities. Open to entrants aged 16 and over with entry, refund and transfer rules managed via the Nifty Entries portal.

A 10 km category BS fell race from Hebden Bridge with about 350 m of ascent, a steep climb to Stoodley Pike and a flagged route over moor, trail and wooded tracks. Entries include individual and three-person team options.

Tackle Paddy's Pole fell race in the Bowland fells near Chipping, Lancs, a punchy 6 km with 336 m climb that rewards hill legs. Pre entry is required, entries limited to 140 so book early and consider car sharing as parking is limited.

A five mile hilly fell race around Kettlewell with grassy tracks, climbs and fast descents. Entry is limited to 100 and fees are £6 for EA affiliated runners and £8 for non affiliated runners.

Challenge the South West Pennines at the Leo Pollard Memorial Race in Rivington, an 8.5 km fell course with 335 m of climb, held around Rivington Hall Barn. Entry on the day; proceeds support Bolton Mountain Rescue.

Stickle Grind 650 is a 2.4 km uphill race with 650 m of ascent to the summit of Harrison Stickle at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn on 5 June 2026. Entry fee is £25 and minimum age is 16.

A 38 km skyrunning event in the Central Lake District with 2800 m ascent on technical single track and scree, summiting England's highest mountain. Entries require runners aged 19 or older and a competency attestation.

A 56 miles trail race on the Southern Upland Way in Scotland on 6 June 2026, with live GPS tracking and mandatory kit. Entrants must be 20 or older and have completed an organised marathon.

A 104 mile ultramarathon on the Southern Upland Way from St John’s Town of Dalry to Galashiels on 6 June 2026, with 4,611 m of ascent, mandatory kit and qualifying requirements. Live GPS tracking and checkpoint support are provided.

A 21 km technical valley trail in Great Langdale with 850 m of ascent, based at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn on 6 June 2026. The event includes fully marked trails, a manned checkpoint and a recycled paper mache medal.

A range of supported trail distances based at Kendal including a 100 km loop through Garburn Pass, Ambleside and alongside Lake Windermere. The event features covered rest stops, GPS tracking, medical teams, camping options and finishers me..

A 24 hour, 50 miles linear route from Marsden to Ilkley with over 6600 ft of ascent. The course visits six Stanza Stones inscribed with poems by Simon Armitage and crosses South Pennines moorland including Haworth and Ilkley Moor.

Glentress 8 Hour Challenge is an 8 hour running event at Glentress on 6 June 2026 organised by NU Limits Running. Registration for this edition closed on 3 March 2026.
