Great Langdale 21

The organiser describes this event as a technical 21 km trail route through Great and Little Langdale, based at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn. It forms part of the Rab Scafell Skyrunning Weekend and is organised by Lake District Sky Trails. The course records 850 m of ascent and has a maximum allowed time of 5 hours. The minimum age to enter is 16 and the entry fee is £50.

The route starts at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn and follows immediately uphill onto technical paths beneath Far Eastern Raven, Far Raven and Raven Crag, then drops toward the Old Dungeon Ghyll pub. It continues up Mickleden, crosses Great Langdale Beck and passes Stool End Farm, then crosses Oxendale Beck and ascends past Red Tarn to the side of Pike O'Blisco. Runners pass the 3 Shires Stone, descend via Wrynose Pass on a short road section, cross Fell Foot Bridge, loop around Little Langdale Tarn, and return through the quarry and Baysbrown Farm and campsite. The final section follows The Cumbria Way back toward the Old Dungeon Ghyll pub and returns to the Stickle Barn.

Event facilities and features listed by the organiser include fully marked trails and footpaths, a manned checkpoint, a recycled paper mache wild flower seed bomb medal, vegan salty soup, and evening music. The event offers an option to purchase entrant cover for potential refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
