Great Langdale 21

Great Langdale 21 is a 21 km valley route in Great and Little Langdale, based at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn, and forms part of the Rab Scafell Skyrunning Weekend on 6 June 2026. The course includes 850 m of ascent and a maximum allowed time of 5 hours. The minimum age is 16 and the entry fee is £50.

The event provides fully marked trails and footpaths, a manned checkpoint, a recycled paper mache wild flower seed bomb medal, vegan salty cramp buster soup, and on site event support from a professional events team. Music is scheduled in the evening and night.

The route starts at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn and climbs immediately onto technical paths, passing under Far Eastern Raven, Far Raven and Raven Crag before dropping to the Old Dungeon Ghyll pub. The course continues up Mickleden, crosses Great Langdale Beck, and reaches Stool End Farm. It then crosses Oxendale Beck, climbs past Red Tarn and around Pike O'Blisco to the 3 Shires Stone. After a short road section down Wrynose Pass the route returns to trails via Fell Foot Bridge, skirts Little Langdale Tarn, passes the quarry and Baysbrown Farm and follows the Cumbria Way back through the Old Dungeon Ghyll area to Lanty Slees Stickle Barn.
