The course begins and ends at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn. The route consists of fully marked trails and footpaths across technical terrain. After reaching the 3 Shires Stone, there is a short road section down Wrynose Pass before returning to trails over Fell Foot Bridge. The final segment snakes past Little Langdale Tarn, passes through a quarry and Baysbrown Farm, and follows the Cumbria Way back toward the finish.
