Great Langdale 21

Great Langdale 21 is a technical trail race of 21 km with approximately 850 m of ascent, held on 6 June 2026. The event is based at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn in Great Langdale and forms part of the Rab Scafell Sky Race weekend. The maximum allowed time on course is five hours and the minimum entry age is 16.

The route uses fully marked trails and footpaths around Great and Little Langdale. The course description begins at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn and ascends immediately on a technical path, passing under Far Eastern Raven, Far Raven and Raven Crag before dropping toward the Old Dungeon Ghyll pub. The line then climbs through Mickleden, crosses Great Langdale Beck, and follows runnable trails to Stool End Farm. From there the route crosses Oxendale Beck, climbs past Red Tarn and skirts Pike O'Blisco, continues to the 3 Shires Stone, drops down Wrynose Pass on a short road section, and returns via Fell Foot Bridge, the back of Little Langdale Tarn, the quarry and Baysbrown Farm. The finish returns along The Cumbria Way back to the Stickle Barn.

Entries open on 4 October 2025 and close on 27 May 2026. The published entry fee is £50. Participants are provided with a manned checkpoint, a Recycled Paper Mache Wild Flower Seed Bomb medal, vegan salty soup, and evening live music as part of the event centre at the Stickle Barn.
