The Great Langdale 21 takes place on 6 June 2026 and is organised by Lake District Sky Trails. It is a 21 km valley route with about 850 m of ascent. The event is based at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn (LA22 9JX) in Great Langdale and is part of the Rab Scafell Skyrunning Weekend. Entry opens 4 October 2025 and closes 27 May 2026. The minimum age is 16 on the event date. The entry fee is £50.00 and the maximum time allowed on course is 5 hours.

Course and services

The route runs in Great and Little Langdale and starts at the Stickle Barn. The course includes steep and technical trail sections, crossings of Great Langdale Beck and Oxendale Beck, and passes landmarks such as Mickleden, Red Tarn, Pike O'Blisco, the 3 Shires Stone, Wrynose Pass, Fell Foot Bridge, Little Langdale Tarn, quarry, and Baysbrown Farm/Campsite. The course returns via the Cumbria Way and the Old Dungeon Ghyll area back to the Stickle Barn. The event provides fully marked trails, a manned checkpoint, a recycled paper mache wild flower seed bomb medal, and vegan salty cramp-buster soup.
