Stanza Stones Summer Edition
Ilkley, United Kingdom • 6 Jun 2026
Stanza Stones Summer Edition is a 24-hour, 50-mile ultramarathon from Marsden, West Yorkshire, to Ilkley, climbing over 6,600 ft as it traverses the South Pennines moorland, passing Haworth and Ilkley Moor before finishing. Along the way runners visit the six Stanza Stones—inscribed with Simon Armitage poems linked by water themes—each stone bearing a separate name: Snow, Rain, Mist, Dew, Puddle and Beck. The course offers live tracking, indoor checkpoints, and a finishers’ meal, with registration possible at either end. Minimum age is 20; the event emphasizes atmosphere and scenic, challenging terrain. It passes Haworth, famed for the Brontë sisters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
