Ultra Scotland 50 : event details

The Ultra Scotland 50 is a 56-mile trail ultra on Saturday 6 June 2026 following the Southern Upland Way. The course shows about 2447 m of ascent and is way-marked as one of Scotland's Great Trails. The event starts at St Johns Town of Dalry and finishes at Moffat Rugby Club. Entry is limited to 400 places and the published entry fee is £119. The race includes live online GPS tracking via GB Race Tracker and awards UTMB performance index and ITRA mountain points. The 50-mile race is part of the GB Ultras 50 Mile SLAM and Grand Slam series.

Runners must be at least 20 years old and must have completed a marathon distance prior to the event. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and may be checked; required items include a hardcopy Southern Upland Way map, waterproof coat with sealed seams (min 10,000 mm), base plate compass, 1-litre water container, fully charged mobile phone, headtorch (min 75 lumens) plus a backup light (min 25 lumens), emergency blanket, 500 calories of emergency rations and the event GPS tracker. Wet-weather kit (waterproof trousers, warm hat, gloves) is mandatory. No pacers or support runners are permitted.
