Settle Saunter

The Settle Saunter is an annual walking and running event based at Victoria Hall in Settle. The routes follow footpaths and bridleways into quieter parts of the Yorkshire Dales, passing through rural villages, hamlets and lower fells around the town. The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Settle with support from the local community and raises money for local and international charities, including the Fell Rescue, Victoria Hall in Settle and a health education project in Nepal.

There are three marked and runnable routes. SPORTident timing is used and entrants receive a comprehensive route description; maps and GPS files are available to entrants. Dogs are allowed provided they are kept on a lead. The organisers expect to use staggered starts to reduce crowding, with earlier slots on the longer courses reserved for walkers.

Age and safeguarding rules are in place. The 23 mile route is restricted to ages 13 and over. Juniors aged 15 or younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Sixteen and seventeen year olds who are unaccompanied must provide a parental or guardian consent form. Children aged between 5 and 11 whose parent has entered the 10k may enter without charge and must be supervised at all times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
