Montane Ullswater Way Trail Ultra, 20 & 10

The event is based at Jenkins Field in Glenridding, Cumbria with race registration and race headquarters located there. Courses follow the Ullswater Way around Ullswater lake with different route options and marked feed stations.

Distances offered

  • Trail Ultra 33.5 miles including the Lowther Loop and the Dalemain Loop
  • Trail 20 21.5 miles following a full lap of the Ullswater Way
  • Trail 10 10 miles running the final section from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding

Trail 10 entrants register at Jenkins Field and then travel to the Pooley Bridge start. An event coach to transfer Trail 10 runners is available as an optional extra for £10 and must be booked in advance; runners may also make their own way to the start. Age rules require entrants to be at least 16 years old for the Trail 20 and Trail 10 and 18 years old for the Trail Ultra.

Entries close when the event is full or at midday on the Friday prior to race day. Entry fees are Trail Ultra £79, Trail 20 £49 and Trail 10 £39. Runners must carry the items on the compulsory kit list. Entries include a bespoke finishers medal, electronic timing, feed stations and free event photographs. A traditional old English sports meeting on 28 May 2026 for all ages, with prize money and gate entries. Published fees of £6 for adults and £4 for children appear alongside a note that entries are free.

OMM Lite in Grasmere is a map based navigation event over one or two days where solo runners or teams locate numbered checkpoints to score points, with timing chips, live tracking, bespoke maps and a post event hot meal included.

Two category A fell races around the head of the Duddon Valley presenting long and short mountain courses with significant ascent. Strong navigation skills and full mountain kit are required.

A 10 mile fell race in the Lake District with about 3000 feet of climb over Dow and Caw. It is a category A event that requires navigational skill, proper kit and experience on rough mountain terrain.
