Trail Running calendar near Chop Gate 2026-2027

The Nidderdale Way Ultramarathon will take place in Pateley Bridge on Saturday 24 October 2026.

A backyard ultra in Gisburn Forest where runners complete a fully off road loop each hour until one person remains. Field capped at 200 with prizes for top finishers and an extra award for anyone exceeding 100 mile.

Run the Bronte Way fell race through the South/West Pennines, a scenic 12 km point to point with 351 m of climb. Pre entry only with limited bus support and a warming soup and roll at the finish make this a classic autumn challenge.

The Drop in Manchester is a blindfolded navigation challenge from Up & Running. Participants are dropped at unknown locations and must find their way back over 6, 10 or 15 miles using no personal navigation aids.

Tackle Lockton Limping, a scenic fell race across the North York Moors covering 11.2 km with 350 m of climb and sweeping views. Entry is on the day at Lockton Village Hall, perfect for both competitive and social runners.

An obstacle course race for dogs and owners on Aske estate near Richmond, North Yorkshire. Routes of 5 km and 10 km feature marked obstacles and an 850 metre assault section through mud and water.

A Halloween themed trail event on the Leeds to Liverpool Canal in Kirkstall offering distances from a family friendly 1 mile to ultra marathon. The licensed course is marshalled and features drink stations, Halloween medals and spot prizes.

A traditional fell race on Halloween covering 4.3 miles with over 800 ft of ascent between the Summit Inn and the White House pub near Blackstone Edge. Junior categories are included and costume prizes are awarded.

Trail runs and a sport trail from Jenkins Field in Glenridding around Helvellyn and Ullswater. Multiple distances are well marked and marshalled with age and time limits, local logistics and basic safety measures in place.

A six hour timed trail at Linacre Reservoirs where runners complete repeated 5 km laps and aim for as many laps as possible. Checkpoints offer food and drinks and every finisher receives a medal.

A full and half marathon around Gargrave, North Yorkshire, on a multi-terrain looped course that passes the Broughton Stone Circle. Volunteer run and non-profit, proceeds support a scout's attendance at the World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk 20..

A waymarked lakeside event around Ullswater offering a *20 mile* low level route or a *24 mile* Challenge with higher fell sections, staffed checkpoints and a written route description for participants.

A coastal running event in Seaham with 5 km and 10 km courses starting at the Tommy statue. A one minute silence precedes each race; live chip timing and finisher medal, T shirt and snack are provided.

Trail running on scenic Ullswater shores with 10 km and 14 km options, steamer transfers when possible, compulsory kit checks, and contingency routes if boats cannot sail.

Trail event at Grizedale Forest on 1 November 2026 offering marked, chip-timed 5K and 10K loops with GPX files and the option to run with up to two dogs on wide forest paths.

A 10 km BS fell race on 7 November 2026 with about 350 m of ascent, run over a fast, muddy course featuring a steep descent off Stoodley Pike and a steep return climb; race HQ is at the Shepherds Rest Inn in Todmorden.

An annual November off road run of 11k around Burley Moor starting and finishing at Scalebor Park. The marked route climbs to the high point near the Great Skirtful of Stones and often includes muddy, steep sections.

Trail marathon, half marathon and 10k from Goathland on 7 November 2026. Courses are unmarked so runners must carry printed maps and mandatory winter safety kit.
