The 55km Ultra route follows the River Tyne to Wylam, crosses the Tyne, returns toward Derwenthaugh Marina, then follows the River Derwent through High Spen into Chopwell Woods, Lintzford and the Derwent Valley before returning on the Derwent Walk and the River Tyne to finish at the Swing Bridge. There are 3 feed stations on this route; one is at Wylam Car Park (approx. 15 km, what3words ///reviews.drizzly.moped) and two at the Derwent Walk (approx. 32 km and 44 km, what3words ///sticky.deed.learn).

The 25km Trail follows the Tyne from the Swing Bridge, crosses Scotswood Bridge, loops around Derwent Walk Country Park and returns to finish at the Swing Bridge. This route has 1 shared feed station on the Derwent Walk (approx. 13 km, what3words ///sticky.deed.learn).

Age limits: 55km entrants must be 20 or over; 25km entrants must be 18 or over. Surfaces: 55km is about 73% paved and 27% unpaved; 25km is about 74% paved and 26% unpaved.
